.
while the .CO selling has slowed very much, the russian .рф TLD has sold 500,000 domains in a week!!! :cheesy:

Comparing apples to oranges. .CO was launched as a global TLD versus an IDN ccTLD. Russia's population is 3.5 times that of Colombia, with a much bigger Internet userbase. I don't think anyone outside of Russia is registering .рф

no, because the .co registry, Google, GoGaddy, all auction sites, forums, blogs, etc. etc. have promoted the .co TLD as an INTERNATIONAL TLD and as a possible .com replacement, so, the userbase of .co should be the WORLD and not only Colombia

The world still uses .com and there is no way to upturn that. So what did you expect, everyone in the world to go after a .co and drop the .com?
On the other hand, the registrants of the Russian IDN ccTLD have a very particular reason to register domains of their own country. So your comparison is uneven.
Now please tell me how many Ruski IDN's did you register.

I agree 100% but the .co TLD has been proposed and promoted as the #1 TLD of the year, while .рф is only a russian TLD and 99.99% of buyers are russian

You don't seem to follow me.

.CO is both a Colombian ccTLD and it was promoted as a .COM alternative.

For the entire world to switch overnight to such an alternative, that's not possible. Still, .CO has 568k domains at the beginning of November. A minuscule portion of which are registered by Colombians.

So you can't compare the user base in absolute numbers, because the Russian IDN ccTLD is almost certainly registered by Russians, that are known to be very enthusiastic and also much more numerous than the Colombians. The rest of the world that did register .CO domains as an alternative to .COM can only adapt so quickly.

that's why the number of .co seems not a so big success for me

Honestly, how can a name promoted as being a "typo" for dot com even be considered as a replacement for dot com?

It can't, it won't, it isn't a replacement to dot com - it is an alternative for dot com. It is a country code.

So I can not see dot co having a possible.co chance to beat.co nor will it kill.co dot com. dot co is not even second.co to dot com and will always be the ugly step sister.co to dot com (only behind .cm)

Yes,you can say my names ugly, but at least I think it's much worth than twitjob.com.

I've never said that it CAN be a .com replacement but that it has been PROMOTED (by the excellent PR of the .CO registry and others) as a .com replacement

true, but, when .CO will be a 15 years old teenager, .com will be a 40 years old man :)

So, its not my job? But, it is your job to pump an extension because - Why?

No one ever accused me of being a gentleman - much like i feel no one has ever accused you of being a domain expert.

What I see is someone from China who is looking for an alternative to .cn being bought up in all the good engwish words.

How are you promoting .co? as an alternative to .cn??? to .cm???

嘿,傻瓜。我不是古巴人。至于酸葡萄,告诉我它的味道如何,好吗?

.co .com .cn and .cm are for very different markets but .co clearly has some advantages because it's a short form, a typo and a redirect of the .com domains

The thread title says: Showcase your .CO domains.
It has nothing to do with Ruski or other IDN ccTLDs.
Stick to the subject, people.

I'm liking the .co clowns sending emails to buy their domains on the basis that they are going to help me save typo traffic on get this - .ca domains! LOL

They've hit up every other tld owner trying to hock this dog and are now grasping at straws to try to sell their domains.

Let's make this abundantly clear - if a domain owner in another extension wanted your .co domain they would have registered it themselves or already sought you out. AND .co IS NOT a typo of .ca unless you are seriously spastic. :upset:
