Yes, as Whitebark pointed out, its about all the spam coming out of china to buy a domain name in .co, just like it was all about (domainname).cn.

Same story, same spammers, same stupidity, different extension.

Yes, too often those who invest in [insert latest TLD released here] do not realize they are at the end of the food chain and there are no buyers for their second rate domains (the best are auctioned off by the registries, remember).
But the same story repeats with every landrush, gotta get used to it !

time ago, I've read a rumor about a mysterious Microsoft .0 (dot zero) TLD that should kill ALL other TLDs including .CO and .COM

what do you know and think about it?

I've just contacted some end users about one of my very few .co's.

So far I have two replies, both said 'did you mean .com?' both have never heard of .co, and thought I just typo'd .com.

It's going to be a long while before .co has any impact on the general business world IMO. Even after the GD super bowl ad.

Seriously, that is completely normal and expected.
If you were pitching extensions like .pro or .mobi you'd need to explain to end users what they are and what they stand for.
Here you have to explain you're not selling the real thing but some kind of fake :)

I regged these the other day - i couldn't be more pleased:

• ConnectedCar.co

• ConnectedCars.co

The plural name is live - nothing too crazy.. just a quick landing page with somewhere between twenty and thirty article teasers and videos dating back to 2005 ... it's almost like an archived article database for connected cars.
pretty cool in the sense that whoever may be looking to find out more about connected cars and telematics can find a lot of news in one place rather then hunting through the web.

Also just added these today:

.
.
• HomeApps.co
.
.
• CarApps.co
.
.
:)
