all the blogs I read... TheDomains, DNXpert, DomainNameWire and dozens other... no news are coming from the .CO planet in last two+ weeks

Plenty of news and updates on all the forums and other domain sites, just look around, TheDomains has died down a bit

I guess you have to remember, tehre is always hype during the landrush auctions and other auctions that follow, there is bound to be a drop in the amount of material, thats common sense really.

probably my choice to buy ONLY two .CO has been right

Thats ridiculous to be honest, no-one can tell what's going to happen, I mean they have only just had the landrush auction, the extension is brand spankin new, lets give it 2 years and see where .co is. I am not saying its going to be popular, but all I am saying is no-one can tell a few weeks after it's released

I regged about 10 just in case...

Was dissapointed at what a scam they pulled on that sale.. Basically what they did is they offered a global pre-order, then not selling what should be publically available (maybe a lawyer could find gold here) they took out the names that were mostly pre-ordered and then sold the crap left over after leeching the data... I ordered 1500, only got 5, and no one owns the other 1400.. such a crock... i wont be putting another dime into buying .co
I need to stick with principles

possibly the other 1400 are reserved domains, which the reigstry will release at a later stage. Nothing wrong with that. Why does everyone always starts crying "scam" , "thieves" .... when they don't succeed ?

Sold my first .co today at around 7 times of what I paid for. Pretty happy with that.

So .. if we can.. maybe a little review with what little information we have already in regards to dot co domain names that can possibly help some of us now and in the future.
... i would love everyone's opinions on this if we could.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

Please feel free to revise, edit, add or subtract anything from below.

At this very early stage of existence for the dot co extension, would you agree or disagree with all or any of the following:

a) - the highest perceived value 'at the moment' appears to be spanish/columbian words.

b) - geo names with dot co are - and will be - very valuable and sought after with this extension.

c) - .co hacks (a domain name which ties the extension to the overall name to form one complete word) is considered now, and later, to be very valuable and/or sought after

d) - a spanish/columbian 'hack' will now and in the future be considered valuable.

e) - LLL's and NNN's will now and in the future be considered valuable and in demand in the dot co extension.

f) - 'most' product names, again, 'at the moment', don't appear to carry as much value yet as the above style of names (?)

g) - the disappointing results from the TRAFFIC auction are nothing more than circumstance (bad website, lack of promotion..etc) more so than growing perception of lack of value.

h) - in "MOST" cases (not counting obvious differences, like organizational names), if there was a dot com that you wanted and it was taken, your next choice would be a dot co extension.

i) - dot co names, to those who have tried, are finding it to be a hard sell at the moment to potential end users.

j) - July 20, 2011 is going to be a FIELD day for drops.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

I wouldn't say that any or all of these are of my opinion, just a quick little rundown of some things we can take from the first quarter results.

Thanks all .. looking forward to hearing from both sides of this discussion.

a) - the highest perceived value 'at the moment' appears to be spanish/columbian words.
IMO you can't go wrong if you keep in mind it's a ccTLD that also has a local market. Perhaps .com.co is going to remain the de facto TLD of Colombia for some time :)

b) - geo names with dot co are - and will be - very valuable and sought after with this extension.
Why geo names would be valuable in .co ? IMO they are as valuable as in say .tv.

g) - the disappointing results from the TRAFFIC auction are nothing more than circumstance (bad website, lack of promotion..etc) more so than growing perception of lack of value.
Reality has already settled in. That's why decent LLL.co are not selling for $100 on domain forums.

j) - July 20, 2011 is going to be a FIELD day for drops.
A landrush will always produce a big drop, including some viable names that will be picked up by other people :)

Any of those big ticket sales of .co closed yet? And if not are they likely to?

Something I noticed tonight. Anyone notice it also?

I went to godaddy's site and the default "search for a domain name" on the homepage is now .co not .com. I cleared out my history just to make sure it wasent a cookie on my machine. Let me know if you see this too?

Plus I wanted to see if anyone has any recent sales. I had a LLLL.co sell today for $500.
