Newbies be very careful of paying for someone's early retirement with these pitiful names. Don't fall for typical scams like highly publicized sales that are obviously not "arm's length". Don't believe the hype. If someone buys a name for $30 and tries to sell it to you a month later for 100 or 1,000 times that, you will be the laughingstock and you will NOT like the result when this extention flops like they all do.
Buyer beware, but I am here to help, since there are way too many conflicts of interest out there. Nobody cares about falsely reported sales and shill bidding. Just say "NO" and enjoy your life. You will thank me later.
I see it is starting already. These are not legit sales, they are well-planned advertising gimmicks where you have no idea what really happened. Shame on everyone involved. I can't wait for someone to go to jail over over one of these scam sales. At least they got a major company to go along with the pumping. Usually, it is just some anonymous buyer like the
http://www.sportsbook.mobi/ sale that was reported in 2007 as a 129K sale.....check out the site....lol.
Beware of similar pumping like below. Yeah, once in a while a sale might be legit, but you will start to see some real headscratchers in the coming months. You will know which ones are FRAUDS. Trust your instincts.
O.CO (Colombian country code) was right behind at $350,000 after being purchased by Overstock.com in a highly publicized sale that accompanied the re-launch of the .CO extension this week. Those two sales also rank among the three biggest ccTLD sales reported so far in 2010.
