I want to buy this domain name that. If you REALLY need to know what it is I will tell you but I really rather not say. It shouldn't really matter.....

Anyway....

I go to the site and apparently a brokerage company controls it. The company is ProForma (go to Proforma.com)

They tell you that you can submit a bid request but also basically say (and I paraphrase): Maybe the seller will get back to you, maybe not, WHO KNOW?!?!?!

The site has a phone number but the BS recording just refers you back to the site (WHY EVEN HAVE A NUMBER)

I'm new to this stuff, there seems to be virtually no other way of contacting the owner of the domain name.

Does anyone know how I can get in contact with the owner of the domain? Are there other resources available?

I'm very skeptical as to whether or not Proforma is even a legit company.

It is Frank Schillings company, they are legit and have had some sales posted at DNJournal (as far as I know). I'd go ahead and use the form and see what happens.

Only fill out that form after winningf the state lotto :)

I filled out the form and got nothing! Been waiting forever now. I'm willing to pay the right price for the domain I just need to open communication. I feel like I'm in Nazi Germany.

Did you make an offer on the form, go back add three zero's and I bet you hear back lol

I guarantee you have NO idea what I offered.

I offered a MORE THAN reasonable 5 figure number - No reply.

Perhaps they did reply back, but the mail was trapped as spam.

Well guess what, After emailing them maybe once every two weeks over the last few months with no response, today I get a little long winded and detailed in my message and they respond within hours. Interesting.

Oh..... The price?.... $83,000

Not exactly adding 3 zeros but wow.... These people are CROOKS.

Not crooks, just capitalists :)

$83k isnt bad from them, probably a $XXXX name reseller lol

out of curiosity....

I just so happen to own the EXACT SAME domain but instead of .com it's .biz

Without knowing the domain name (I know it's hard) do you think it holds any value or does the .biz kill it's value nearly 100%.

Cause.... even it kills the value by 90%, still nt bad for something i picked up for $15.

Well you could say if the .com is $83000 that could make the .biz $XX+ but they at $83000 are 10-20x too high that makes your it biz $X.XX give or take.

Really you cannot value a name based on what the .com is, too much to it to weigh. For example sex.biz vs. camels.biz, follow me :)

Frank Schilling is one of the most respected domainers and has one of the best portfolios of domains in the world. I am not convinced $83,000 is a ridiculous asking price without knowing the domain.

It might just be possible that you are undervaluing the domain. It is hard to know without the actual domain.

Brad

Alright then.

Seedz.com

Now tell me if you think it's ridiculous.

Wow. I have to agree that asking price is a joke. I am surprised they even own a domain like that.

I assumed it was a great keyword domain to justify that asking price.

Brad

Alright then.

Seedz.com

Now tell me if you think it's ridiculous.

Right? That's what I'm saying!! Geez, it's not even a real word!!... Is it? Of course "Seeds" is.

when I first went to register it I thought maybe it wouldn't even be registered.... To see that it's registered and the asking price is $83k I fell of my chair and squashed my dog.

email them back and say:

"but, Estibot says it is only worth $410"

:)

It is basically a brandable five letter .COM, nothing special really. Your offer is probably the best offer they have and will ever receive.

But when you are worth millions you can pretty much ask whatever you want and not really care either way if it sells.

I wonder what their asking prices are for domains that are actually good, especially some of their keyword gems.

Brad

Seriously. $410 sounds good t me.

I just hate how there is no discussion on it. Maybe if I talked to somebody over on Frank Shilling island we can come to an agreement. Seedz.com should be in his bargain bin compared to the other ones he has, am I right?

Estibot even at $410 is over valuing it lmao

And I take back my estimation he was 10-20x hih, try 1,300x.

So what do you guys think? Any chance in hell this guy comes down?
