I finally got a chance to read the most recent Sedo newsletter. Was shocked to see the exorbitantly low prices listed in some of their recent sales. Below is the table they sent out.

Rap.org for $5,900 !?!?!?! that's dirt cheap for a great name. I could easily see that name going for $30,000+ just a few years ago.

Hamburgers.net for $5,715 !?!?!?! OMG that name would have gone for $30,000+ just a couple of years ago.

I have a question for the domain sellers / flippers / brokers out there: where are you seeing aftermarket prices headed right now? Are they continuing to fall, or are you seeing prices come back (the way the stock market has come back in the last month).

Recently Sold Domains recently sold through Sedo
FlatRate.de 200,000 USD Motors.es 113,050 USD Vodkas.com 21,500 EUR DiscountCandles.com 13,500 USD Trading.info 10,374 USD InternetPoker.org 6,000 USD Rap.org 5,900 USD Hamburgers.net 5,715 USD Cloture.com (closing in French) 5,000 USD DirectText.com 2,500 USD

I seen rap.org offeredd in the exclusive on this forum for about 9k earlier and the owner wanted like 15k I think to start it offf. I guess he needed the cash. I sent emails out to certain .org people like the owner of umbrellas.org wanted 20k for his domain but with this data I can push some of these doaminer holders/collectors down to realistic prices

you can only push those who are desperate for cash

others will hold their names forever, until the right price is offered.

The end users are still there. It's the reseller market that took a hit.

domain values will continue to decline into 2010

for buyers such as myself it is great news :)

for all those people with crap names, ie; brandable and "sound good" names.. and there is millions of such domain names being held simply for resale, well... two words:

game over

all of the .bs tld's that will be rolled out won't make one bit of difference or have any effects on the PREMIUM .com domains --- if anything, they will only increase their value

Ive noticed a steady increase in sales...rap.org really isn't all that good. It looks good from the outside but what can you really do with it?

Really depends on the market segment -- LLL.coms seem to have appreciated 17% or so over the last month ($3000 minimum to about $3500 now).

A few good points int his thread so far..

Yes prices among resellers seem to be down ( not in free fall but down a fair bit ).

It is true that is not a reflection of end user prices as mentioned so the end result can still be achieved.

Personally I believe the lower prices of saome names are a reflection of panic and the current economy as a whole combined. Have patience and solid names will climb back and more.

Also LLL and LLLL are not newbie investments. You run your mouth alot Mike, time to start backing it up, what are your names ? .... didnt think so...

yea they are... really bad investments

most of this 3/4 letter domains have no meaning to any end users whatsoever, which is where the real money is... there is this perceived value between domainers, since there are only so many of them but wtf do you do with dkf.com or qud.com or fjo.com ddjk.com llas.com djii.com eois.com etc... ?:lol::lol:

a domain is a name for your company / business... only idiots will go with something like the names above.

you can get a much better domain for a few thousand bucks that makes a lot more sense this days.

resellers buy em cheap and flip em as fast as they can every chance they get when they can turn a little bit of profit to the next newbie

and it goes on and on

btw, who are you again and why are you running your mouth ?

And all those typos of company products and obvious trademark infringing domains you've registered and sold -- what does that make you? I'd rather be a "newbie" than the kind of scum responsible for the large majority of the reasons domainers have a bad name. At least I make my money honestly.

I am someone who has been watching you make a fool of yourself for months now, attacking other's personally, handing out poor advice ( such as with acronyms in this case ) and so forth. Not just hear but elsewhere and frankly I will not spend too much time on this other than to warn those getting into domains that not all advice is good advice.

It's one thing to run your mouth when it's experience and knowledge thats coming out, it's another when it's not.

I'm not psychic, just really good at smelling out the pretenders.
