I've been with DomainHop since the first of July, and have seen my revenue go down consistently each month ($60-$50-$40-$20-$20 (est)). My number of unique visitors is relatively constant, but my click throughs are through the floor.

It was only recently that I realized what is going on. d:) They are trying to have all links open in a new browser window, which invokes most pop-up blockers. End-users are getting their clicks blocked, and considering the demographic of people who actually visit typo domains/keyword domains, they are not smart enough to disable/bypass their pop-up blocker, and simply go elsewheree. The number of end-users to install XP SP2 or other pop-up blocker in undoubtedly increasing each month, thus explaining the downward revenue trend above.

I wrote DomainHop to request they modify their links to open click-throughs in the same window. My first response indicated that they did not fully understand the gravity of the situation. I wrote them again with a little more clarity and force, and am now waiting for a reply.

Has anyone else noticed a drop in their revenue from DomainHop over the past few months? What are the other parking sites doing with their links? Has anyone else contacted DomainHop about this?

Not sure about the pop-ups, but I know that some of the revenue loss came for my names at DH because they stopped counting all traffic at a minimum of $4/1000 uniques. That was quite a generous floor for low grade traffic. Basically, there no longer is a floor at DH.

HI Guys,
Domain Sponsor has optimization technology that supersedes it competition. Our payout is the highest in the industry and we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. Test a few domains with us and you will see the difference!

Yep...he ain't lying :) My revenue increases each month. I had a 30% jump in revenue a few months ago when they updated their system.

I tried all of the PPC companies and Domain Sponsor is the best, on customer service and on payouts. I honestly consider them a partner.

FYI - Never use URL redirection. I was losing 20%+ of my traffic on failed rediretcions. You'll get a 20% pop with just that one change alone. There are a lot of little tricks like this...just takes time to learn them.

I have tried everyone, but I am happy with only one.

And that one is DomainSponsor.

100% of our domains are now at DS and we do not do a damn thing. They keep improving their system and we keep reaping the benefit.

DS, please keep up the nice work you guys are doing.

Thanks,

I had signed up with them (DS) several months ago, but their system was buggy. Can't remember exactly what the deal was, but the signup screwed up and I couldn't log in or something. Whatever it was (operator error?), I logged in fine now.

However, I now have a small prob: I have over 400 domains at eNom (and about 200 elsewhere, but will be moving them to eNom as they expire). Since DomainSponsor doesn't provide DNS, I will use eNoms URL Frame. However, when I insert my Redirection Code, eNom generates an error:

The domain name 'http://landing.domainsponsor.com/?a_id=817&domainname=referer_detect' contains an illegal character.

Can anyone advise me as to the easiest way to use eNom URL Frames to point my domains to Domain Sponsor?

Yes they do.

Once again, if you use Enom's redirection service, you will lose 20%+ of your traffic. On $500 a day earnings, that's $100 a day or $36,500 a year. If you're at $1,000 a day, that's more than $72,000 a year. Even if use used a third party DNS, it would pay for itself in a few days. NEVER EVER use redirection...I can't be more adamant than that.

Umm.... if they have DNS, I'm not finding it:

There are three different methods to redirect your domains to us: URL Forwarding using Frames, Redirection using HTML, and Manual Redirection. You can see the details by clicking on the Redirection Code link on the side navigation bar.
How do I access it? How do I tell DomainSponsor which domains belong to me?

Okay I signed up ... and added a few domains. But where do I point my NS now.
Is it NS[].OVERSEE.NET or something else. .

There is no documentation hence the problem.

Make sure your account is active before you switch your DNS. Call DS and have them walk you through your setup.

Once that is done, here is your DNS info:

ns1.proredirect.com (64.235.246.10)
ns2.proredirect.com (64.235.246.11)

Thanks TopNames.
Though it seems easy to do it myself, but will call them right away to prevent any problems.

Just found this seeming contradiction humorous. Obviously you meant, don't use a redirect service that doesn't allot for third-level domains, subdirectories, etc., etc., right?

It's not a contradiction. Proredirect is run by Domain Sponsor. They have skin in the game, so they want the servers up, Enom could care less (it's a nice free service, but not for professionals). Domain Sponsor also captures subdomains and 404 traffic, which a lot of people forget to configure (or don't know how to configure) on Enom and end up losing a large amount of their traffic.

There's nothing wrong with frame forwarding. After all, that's what Proredirect does. Just don't use eNom's frame forwarding. It's impossible to forward domains to DomainSponsor properly using eNom's frame forwarding because it eats the parameters when passing files and/or subdirectories. Their forwarding servers are also slow or unresponsive at times.

Also, don't use referer_detect. Not all browsers report referers, so some traffic may be counted as unknown. It's better to specify the domain directly.

By the way, is it just me or does Proredirect not work properly with Mozilla-based browsers? I use Linux, so Internet Explorer is not exactly an option for me.

Once again, Proredirect is run by Domain Sponsor...so if you're down or traffic is not forwarding correctly, they are losing money as well. I think Proredirect has 90,000 domains, or something crazy like that...so if they're down, they are losing tens of thousands of dollars every hour. If your paid (or free) redirection service is down, they are not losing money. If my DNS is down for just a few hours, I am losing hundreds of dollars...which is why I would ONLY use Proredirect or run my own DNS. But, be careful if you run your own DNS...if you're on vacation or you don't notice an outage, you're screwed.

So, do you specify the domain parameter manually for every domain you point to DomainSponsor? Or is there another shortcut?

You can't fault DomainHop for making it easy to add domains -- one interface, I simply add domains to their interface, and point the DNS to ns1.domainhop.com/ns2.domainhop.com and I'm done. Bell, this may be something to mention to your developers. Two disconnected interfaces with separate application processes and unclear instructions is not very user-friendly.

Actually, it is very easy once you get used to it. I know I didn't like domainhop's process of optimizing, but to each his own. I can tell you that I make more with Domain Sponsor that I did with any other PPC company.

I forward domains from my own server, so I made a script to do this for me. Since I can't use Proredirect, I don't know if there's a shortcut.
