Hi,
While trying to snag a few domains, I came across on that has an overture of over 30,000. Its long (4 words or 17 characters), but is a .com. How accurate do you think overture is? Is this a good investment?

I also found a 3 letter .name with an overture of 20,000. What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I assume it is the overture score without extension. Try if the domain has an overture with extension, if so register it and see if it has any traffic. If not drop it within 4 days, so you only pay ICANN fee (you can do this with moniker for example).

Hmmm well most of the domains have zero overture with extension. I use godaddy.com mostly... is there a drop feature there? Thanks.

GoDaddy does have this. The chanes that these domains have traffic is rather slim in my opinion, why not try one domain and see how it works out.

Thanks, I registered lcdflatscreentvs.com. Long but loaded with keywords.

Ive also found about 15 premium (wordtacker 50,000+ overture 100,000+) 1 and 2 word .sc domains that I might register. Will probably just snap one and see how it goes. Thanks.

Godaddy has a testing feature now? I don't believe they do. You may want to look at moniker if you want to do testing.

I looked all around GoDaddy web site to find that testing feature and could not find it either...

If there is one, please let us know.

I don't think GoDaddy has a delete grace period either. As for the overture names, I'd think the long .com has a better chance than the short .name
