dos.org ... I've had it since the 1990's via different registrars.

Hmm nice, I'd say low x,xxx

I was thinking more in the 5 digit range.

Indeed. This domain has been around under single control for a long long time, probably longer than most of the users on here have been on the internet. $1500 is insulting.

IMO This would be reseller pricing BTW...Although

I think it would be tough (not impossible) to get a 5 figure sale on this 3 letter .org...maybe by a collector or perfect enduser.

Why would being under the control of one owner have any major bearing on the market price? Even domain age is a stretch in most cases, and I can't see why your exclusive ownership increases value.

D,O, & S are great letters and LLL.orgs are very much on the rise but I don't think there are enough ad dollars targeting dos to warrant a 5-figure reseller price.

I would have to agree, but still a very nice domain.

A very realistic reseller price would not exceed the $5k range.

lol man
I'd actually looked up the site a couple of days back and was gonna make an offer.
So I'll be honest and appraise it at what I would've offered at max - $3k
Great name, but not that relevant in this day of Windows Vista and OSX Leopard.

DOS = Denial Of Service, the most prevalent server CMTP attacks, and network security organizations are constantly attempting to prevent these.

Its a big industry in network securities. I would say it should be quite valuable for them.

2-3K reseller
3-5K end user

This is DOS guys...DOS...not only is it a great combo, a common abbreviation, a use for computer programmers, but it has over 1 billion google results...I think estimating this under 5k is a shame...

^IMO

actually, dos also means "two" in Spanish
