DropShark 2.0 Beta Coding Complete

As of about 10 minutes ago, the last code for DropShark 2.0 was checked-in complete.

The final beta is done. Over the next 48 hours I will be creating the installer and error reporting system as well as enabling the linkpop data feed for everyone on the beta.

All registered users of 1.0 will receive a 2.0 Final Beta authorization and then the package will be made available, along with a bug-report email drop.

But now I'm going to get some sleep! k:

Yes, one last-minute bug came in from a tester that I'm working on now, and hope to get done today. Seattle's getting its first snow today, so I'm stuck at home

Should have been last Monday, I'm embarassed to say. The bug fix appears to be working, so provided it doesn't die before I get the installation package done, I should be able to push the final beta out in the next 24 hours. I'm cautious, though, because this week's showstopper was huge - a bug in the base service that completely destroyed the data feed logic and had to be recoded from scratch.

I'm lucky I enjoy coding so much! :-D

Will 1.0 users get a free upgrade? Will there be a price increase for 2.0? In other words, if I purchase 1.0 now, will this benefit me when 2.0 comes out?

Holidays are good for getting relaxing coding and configuration done, don't you know!

Fle8, 1.0 users will get an upgrade, and I do not anticipate changing the price for 2.0. There are some enhanced data feeds that I have negotiated that are available as an additional subscription, but they are in addition to the existing functionality and are not necessary by any means.
