It could be worth high $xxx if someone else really wants to get into that business. The territory is changing so fast right now that I'm not sure that you have a big pool of buyers [pun intended].

I agree with the above assessment!

unless you got big pockets to get into the drop game yourself, then I doubt if there will be much interest in the domain.

Am I wrong but wasnt DropSnap an actual website for this type of business in the past? It rings a bell but I may be thinking of something close to it. Just curious

In my point, only the man who want begin their domain name caught business will buy this name, and the price will not high.Low-Mid$xxx is a good price.
And for thos domain reseller,I think they will only pay $50 or more few for it.

You're thinking of "DomainSnaps.com".

I honestly do not think this domain name "DropSnap.com" is worth $60. "DomainSnap.com"? Maybe. In my opinion, "Drop Snap" is one of many words in this area you could pick up of a hat as "still available".

It is mostly a "branding" consideration as it holds no real keywords that would help it along. As a "brand" for a very turbulent and volatile market, I think it is in a tough place. If a name like "Domainsbot.com" is being used to brand under, it only seems to strongly imply to me that the name isn't as important as the choice to use it. "SnapBacks", are backorders through SnapNames, no where else. It is a service mark, no matter how much people now use this as a "generic" term for backordering. From what I understand, SnapNames no longer has their private-label program, so that's not even a possibility.

That's just my opinion.

For this to be worth anything more than reg fee, the following names would have to be long gone, and not completely available for registration.

DropBuddy.com
DropPartner.com
DropChamp.com
DropWin.com
DropCapture.com
DropCollector.com

That would make the NEW availability of this name something of a find, and worth more, due to the absence of other options. I would honestly consider the names above more favorably than the name you just got.

very well thought out appraisal. developing a drop site will require thousands for connections, software, etc. if you are going to get into the expired domain business do it quick .. things are changing fast

Provided, if a registrar... you can even get Verisign to let you into the shared registry system, and if a company partnering with registrars, you can SOMEHOW lure registrars away from Pool or Snapnames... That said, not sure "developing" the name would do much under this name, than it would any other.

Thanks everyone for their very informative appraisals and comments! I would love to develop the name, maybe one day I will when I get the time ... but also their is just way too much competition out there!
