Hi, how are you doing? I'm new here (actually had an old account that got deleted) and I wanted to get your advise on something. I have a domain (conoma.com) registered under GoDaddy.com (I know, I know...) and I was contacted by them because they had an interested party. At first they mentioned they thought that they could get $1000-3500 but then said that "after a lot of back and forth" they could only offer $1000. What do you think? Is that a fair offer? Thanks in advance :)

Hi, brott

Have you checked recent sales of similar six-letter brandables for comparison?

Hi @nicenic thanks for your reply :) I tried but I couldn't find one. Do you have a link that you could share by any chance? sorry I'm not in this business, I just registered that domain a long time ago and never ended up using it. Thanks!

I'm not an expert, but I still think you could get WAY more than $1000 for this domain. When I say "way more" I mean upwards of $10-20k more...

But you said that you know what the deal with GoDaddy is, so don't act surprised that they're only offering you $1000, I am almost willing to bet that they offer you this money because they already have someone lined up to buy this for at least 4-5x more. After all, it IS GoDaddy, the biggest crooks in this industry :)

But, if you do need the money, sell it now that you have the chance. Domaining is a risky (and long-term) business, most of the time you sit on quality domains for a decade or more before they sell if you price them too high, so IMO it's best to just drop the price to sensible amounts and make a profit instead of sitting on domains for decades like domain hoarders do.

Thanks a lot @monere ! I really appreciate it :) Yeah, as you mention it's very possible that they are planning on making a huge profit on it haha I told them that I was expecting 3K and that their offer is too low, we'll see what they have to say, thanks a lot for chiming in! :)

I love it! Good for you, you gotta stay firm and know your value with these crooks, otherwise they'll have no moral compass and will rip you off

thanks a lot for chiming in! :)
No problem, man! Good luck selling the domain :)

You can use any appraisal platform to get an initial idea about the range of the valuation of your domain, you have Domsight, Atom, Dyndot etc..
