That's one thing I don't get about DS.... why do some names flucuate so much? Why can't I always be making $35/day? :cheeky:

Good Question.

First of all, your traffic can fluctuate. This is why I take raw data, like yours above (I cut and paste into an Excep spreadsheet, and use Paste Special, Text, then convert to text with Data, Text to Columns) and then calculate rpm (revenue per 1000 unique impressions). Sometimes, I calculate rpm based on US traffic, as it usually generates around 4x the revenue of typical non-US traffic.

Second, the advertisers can come and go. They can decide to spend a lot or a little. They can vary their spending with max for the day or max for the month. They can change their bids up and down. The bids can vary at different times of the day and days of the week.

Third, websurfers can vary as to what they are looking for. Advertising campaigns in other media (TV, radio, print, etc) can affect what people are looking for at various keywords.

Randomness: There will always be a certain amount of randomness

PPC Host Factors: If the PPC service is having a good day and their servers are loading your pages quickly, then you win. If they have a bad day, then you lose.

Target Web Sites: If the target websites are slow to load, then websurfers can give up before the page completely loads. Most ppc services will not credit you until the entire page loads.

There are probably other factors that others may wish to add to this list.
