A new cover story has just been posted at Domain Name Journal that all Exody users (and those considering their service) should find interesting:

Farmer Feeds the World With Domain Data: The Dwayne Rowland & Exody Story

It's about a Georgia farmboy who started writing computer programs in the 1960's (when they ran on vacuum tubes instead of microchips!), then went on to start a variety of innovative businesses, including a data service relied on by domain name pros all over the world today.

You've heard about Silicon Valley, now it's time to learn about the Silicon Swamp - a remote southern farm that is home to mules, horses, chickens, peacocks, ATV's, the Rowland family and a domain industry household name - Exody. Hope you enjoy it!.

Yes, a great piece of history documented. :) Glad to see him take a shot at the WLS and Verisign, I think that was the best part. :)

I know. We didn't put enough cartoons in either.

Just kidding. Thanks for reading (by the way my wife thought it was too long too, but then she isn't into domains! :) )

Good article.

"Current customers think letting newbies get their hands on the lists would be tantamount to handing weapons of mass destruction to Al-Qaida." I like it:D

He really is. I was glad to be able to give him some much deserved recognition. As the story notes, his customers love his service but try not to let the word get around too much because his lists give them a solid edge, In fact I'm going to have to stop mentioning his name too - I don't want to help the competiton either! :)
