And you are qualified to give hints how?You seem to be obsessed with the tv/radio test. I'll give you some hints.
I agree. But you do not have to have a shitty domain name either.1. You don't have to be a multi-million dollar company to create, brand or be successful with a product and its associated domain.
This is true but the Radio test is still important. Most successful companies have names that pass the radio test.2. Social media today allow lots more exposure to any startup than tv/radio of 10 years ago. I know, I've been there, worked the industry.
OK, Based just on just the domain name and not the development and branding that have gone into them what domain would you rather spend money on. FlipThis.com or flickr.com?3. If you still think tv/radio will work better, there are ways to make an impact with any domain, regardless of how it's spelled.

Again, you have not answered the question. Because you know the answer would make you look like a hypocrite.

FlipThis.com or flickr.com?I'm sorry, who is the hypocrite? The one that lies about the importance of an outdated feature and process and attempts to force-feed it to others, or the one who tells it like it is?
I came in giving a full picture about the domain, potential tm issues and delivered my analysis on the scope and usage. You came in, all defensive about your 'radio test' and demand to hear about my credentials. I have years of marketing and media experience but what does this have to do with you?
Who is the hypocrite? The one that doesn't really offer anything to this conversation.
I never heard of that. But you could not develop FlipThis.com into a Web 2.0 brand?
Oddly it passes the phone test...Let me go back to GetARoom.com for a second, thus 'hijacking' this thread to offer some info.
The domain isn't very catchy in my opinion, it has some negative connotations e.g. "get a room you two" stands for commenting on extreme displays of affection.
However, it was sold for $30,000 to a company that marketed it as the next hotel/motel finder. You can build a service and a business on any name, even a negative-sounding one.

I personally feel that you would expect to pay less for flickr.com than for FlipThis.com. I know I would. I have a lot of brandables but I do not fool myself into believing that they would be more valuable than FlipThis. At the end of the day if someone is going to completely brand a product from the ground up they can reg a domain or buy a cheaper one from a reseller. Just my opinion but I think that is generally the opinion of brandables.Who says you can't? I said that, given a choice of circumstances, my executive decision would have been as I stated above. My insight, if you must, is well-rounded.
That being said, I am sorry I was harsh on you and I apologize.
And I would buy it for the right price. But I think those two prices are very far apart.*Well then, Tony will sell you FlipThis for the right price![]()
Tony, I think the name is very catchy. However, how many markets use the term "flip"? I know real estate does. Domaining does. Any others?
As for the phone test, I'm not too sure "flip" would be confused with anything as who is going to think of "flyp" or some other odd spelling when they hear it? When it comes to branding, your brand can be named Garpoddlesmootch and still be successful because that is the point of branding.
Well then, Tony will sell you FlipThis for the right price![]()
This also seems like a playful swear as well. Lot's of potential.![]()
