I got an offer from someone who wants to use this domain for his non profit organisation.

He is willing to pay $400 for it.

Should I take the money or keep the domain...what do you think?

thanks :-P

Well "flowerpower" is from the past so not much advantage there I think - if it was a .com or even .biz it could be used for a florist type site but as a .org it doesn't really fit. IMO $400 seems a good price unless I'm missing something.

thats a pretty good amount for something like that. Try for a little more and see if you can get $500 or 600...people rarely offer what they are willing to pay, figuring they are going to have to come up some.

Ask him for $800 and meet in the middle.

I dont agree with bionic. I would sell for $400. Not much you can do with it unless you develop it alot, and that basicly aplies to all names

I say keep the name. I wouldn't sell for less than $1000. The name conjurs up strong images: The hippie genre. Anti-war (would fit today as well). Free Love.

Yes, Flower Power is a very good and strong imagery, and it appeals to the richest portion of the population (those flower children are now in their 50s). But since it's a .org and with relatively less commercial value (every buyer says he wants it for a non-proft project so I never believe that), $400 is a decent price, unless you want to wait and risk losing this bird in hand.

This is the point though, flowerpower.com is worthless, its a misnomer,
flower power is about organisation, against commerce!

Searched the web for "flower power". Results 1 - 10 of about 439,000
Searched the web for bling. Results 1 - 10 of about 550,000

EDIT : bling stats added, about the same flower power has been
around a long time that's where I'd put my money

That's half a million potential members, still going strong.

Bionic has a point The term is a real nice one with lots of money is the late forty's and fifty's and living longer the term is coming into it's prime. Using org has a better option with this term. Have you heard of aarp or other senior programs Well this term can be use as a private site so these age groups don't get riped off. Or discounts to the flower power gen. Insurance, auto's,healthcare,Retirement, trustfunds, get the point
There is a place where there's a person that will pay alot more. The question is do you or can you wait for him. Or do it yourself...

$2500

Good fit with the extension. The term has stuck for over 30 years and should still be identifiable 30 years from now. Nice name.

There are no more hippies. Those who were hippies are moving into retirement homes and kicking the bucket nowadays.

Someone will revive the term and give it commercial value. $400 isn't enough.
