script is crap- no Vodafone as the phone provider, therefor can't send anything,

selected other UK provider, did not get sms

Thanks for the kind words... But seriously, is that tone necessary?

VodaFone is on our list for services for the next subversion upgrade, which everyone gets for free.

As for the "other" UK provider, which one was it and did you enter a country code before the number i.e. 44?

That was an issue we were dealing with earlier.

David

I have entered two times for O2mobile

number with +4478.. and just 078..

in both cases says- sent, how long do i wait till sms arrives?

o2/Orange is the one we were having difficulties with.

After talking with their support team they said certain users may have to enable it from their mobile phone. They said that users might have to:

SMS saying "ON" to phone number "212"

Before any outside messages are allowed into their system.

And try +44[number]

David

Any chance of adding wireless providers in Greece?

tried all possible combinations , did not get anything

I would recommend contacting O2/Orange and ask them if you are able to receive SMS through an email gateway with your plan.

We tested O2/Orange earlier in the week, we ran into some problems but troubleshooted it as I stated above and it worked.

As for adding Greek services, what are some major Greek mobile phone companies?

VodaFone Greece is on our list to add.

also tried my virgin numbers , all possible combinations:
+4470
4470
070x
70xx

in all cases says- sent, non sms received, dono how about US, but worthless for UK user

Vodafone & CosmOTE are the two larger ones

My test SMS made it through only as a header, e.g.

[email protected]
/New SMS From .../

The SMS "body" never made it.

That issue has been resolved. Problem was with compatibility with certain phones.

Here is the ChangeLog:

Changes to version 1.1d from 1.1c
---------------------------------

1. Fixed compatability for most phones.

Changes to version 1.1c from 1.1b
---------------------------------

1. Added T-Mobile international to supported providers.

Changes to version 1.1b from 1.1a
---------------------------------

1. Fixed O2/Orange (UK) email gateway.
2. Fixed Verizon blocking procedure.
3. Fixed Spam blocking filters.

I received the new SMS tests. It seems though that other char sets are not supported, e.g. Greek? They arrive as entities:

ampersand, quote 964

Try again, switched charset to UTF-8 instead of ISO, wasn't thinking of other characters, but that should do the trick

Sent 2 more SMS and none arrived after 15 minutes.

interesting script
I'll be following this one

motorolla, nokia and qtek ?

texted to virgin again, sms never arrived, just admit - its not working, so we don't keep trying :lie:

It is working, we don't have the ability to fully test Virgin Mobile.

We've been attacking the Verizon problem for the last hour or so and have figured it out... We hope...

Sent: 9:39pm EST to Verizon SMS Center

(SMS) X-Priority: 3
From: "David"

Just another boring text message...

Received 9:39pm EST

Verizon should be working now. We have tested in the past hour:

Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon(heavily) and Sprint and they are all working properly.

T-Mobile (US) currently won't receive any. I've a Samsung T809.

Finally arrived. UTF-8 doesn't seem to work.
