I do not know that value of .EUs yet, but man, gel being a word as well as three letters, I think you have something here. So far, probably XXX for sure:)

I am not quite sure, but this one I think was auctioned at pool for 1100.

If that so, it wouldn't be sold for less, whatever the estimated value is

Yes it was- I was in that pool auction. My high bid was 900 and I was nervous after I placed that as I thought it might be too much. To be honest, I thought I must be bidding against someone with a use for the name already as I really don't think .eu's are worth the money they fetched in the frenzy after the landrush.
The domain at present is worth mid $xxx at most, you have to look at the value of LLL.net as a comparison. .net is far better established, better known, has a better reputation (eurid have put off a lot of domainers with their incompetent handling of the registry), yet for some reason .eu's changed hands for prices that the .net equivalent wouldn't have fetched. I think the price of the .eu's will fall before it rises, and I think it is also the highest risk extention to be involved in at the moment.
Anyways, congratulations on the name!

con.eu sold for €3100 and wot.eu for €2200 in Pool auctions.

I think gel.eu is superior to them (con.eu has a negative connotation in English and French and few companies would want to be associated with such a word).

Gel gets a lot of searches in different European countries. Gel.eu is multi-lingual and I'd say it's worth $2,000+. What do other people think?

True, but I kind of like con.eu as a typo of com.eu

As for gel.eu, I really have no idea as to the value in $$$ terms, but I do like the name.

Yes, you could be write about the com.eu typo. Didn't think of that.

Thanks DomainFriend, my friend! Guess who owns it now? ;) I liked it so much, I made an offer and got it :) Got some other two and three character .eus so thought this would go well with them.

Which is the best place to get valuations done please? Don't mind paying more for a professional estimate of value (though I realise it's early days yet for .eus).

Also, where is the best public source to check for how much .eu domains have sold for since landrush?

I agree with you :) If somebody is searching for a business in their country, they are are more likely to type .de, .fr or whatever rather than .eu. So .eu may have less value.

But .eu has serious potential for European-wide brands or entities. Problem is most brands are either national or worldwide; few brands just for Europe.
