I noticed that Immobilien.pro was the third most bid for .pro on Sedo behind Golf.pro and Casino.pro so I registered 16 German keywords in the .pro extension.

I used Sedo historical bid volumes in other alternative gTLDs, in particular .biz, to identify keywords that may be popular enough to sell through to .pro at some point.

I would be very grateful if somebody who speaks German and has a feel for the .de domain market could advise me on how much these keywords might be worth if they were regged in .de in relation to each other, ie would some be more valuable in .de than others? Many thanks in advance.

Sportwetten.de

Contact member AndreaB, she is an excellent German translator.

those domains suggested are among the best possible ones for .de, especially rente.de and aktien.de (250k+ IMO) as for usage for .pro I would be very careful spending money on .pro. Keep in mind that in German people like .de best, then .com, .info etc...and prices for one word .infos are not even that high, so hoping to get great prices for .pro is not really realistic. In addition to that you need to take the very difficult German grammar into consideration. For example something like einkaufs.pro would be better than einkaufen.pro IMO.., lets not get into the grammar details and why..but the same is true for bewerbungs vs. bewerbung. I have said this before on here..it is usually a good idea to stay away from other language domains unless you really speak the language, to think anything of value is still available and has not been regged by a German person is rather naive IMO.

I would buy most of the above names at the prices suggested. Most seem like a steel at that price

Thanks you for the PM's. I'm especially grateful to the post pointing out the grammer issues with those 2 keywords. I take your point on board about sticking to what you know language wise. My strategy was to register German words that had alot of previous bids in .biz because I figured this would get round the grammer and translation issues and if alot of people were willing to bid for the .biz they might also consider another commercial alternative extension like .pro in future.

Your point about anything worth regging having gone is pragmatic but also pessimistic. Life is full of opportunity, had I applied the logic that .pro had been open since June 2004 so all the best keywords would have gone I wouldn't have got Gadget.pro, Pension.pro, Temps.pro, Quiz.pro, Puzzle.pro, Piano.pro and lots of other excellent English language keywords that were still kicking around when I started regging .pros last September.

It's important to remember that the people who registered .coms in the early 90s made a fortune because 99.9999% of people either didn't know about domains or thought there was no point to it. My logic with .pros is the Internet as a popular medium is really only 7 years old. It could have a technological lifespan of 50-100 years. Selling .coms and .de domains are beyond the reach of ordinary buyers. Extensions like .pro, that sounds good but sell for less, give people the option of a discounted single word generic domain. I bought Cameras.pro for $500 yesterday, Cameras.com sold for $1,5m in 2006 putting it far beyond the reach of small and medium sized businesses. In future the choice will come down to Long-Camera-Keyword.com or Cameras.pro, some people will prefer the .com, others the .pro.
