I am happy to announce that Domain Name Journal is working with Sedo to produce a series of articles focusing on specific domain markets around the world. The first article about Germany and .DE has just been published at

www.DNJournal.com (Feature Story, just below the Cover Story)

This initial article was written by Tim Schumacher, the CEO of Sedo.de and Mathew Bentley, who is in charge of Sedo's English Operations. They document specific selling prices for .DE domains from SEDO sales data and detail some interesting trends in the German market that I think domain investors will find very interesting.

I hope those of you who invest globally will find this new series to be helpful. Thanks for reading!

"For most German companies, as long as the .de is secured, picking up the .com is an afterthought, not a requirement. " :D

I consider this post more or less a informational one.... Since we will benefit from clicking on the link, not Duke... That's the key.

Duke,

That was brilliant to feature an article about Germany. Now, you can go there and do a follow up and deduct it as a business expense.

That's one of the fringe benefit of International Business.

Well Richard, you know that would not be fair to my fellow taxpayers (he says while looking up air fares to Frankfurt :)).

I go to Frankfurt every Feb for a Int'l trade show. Except this year because of the gulf war and Sars.

Great Town.

(And, an easy flight from the east coast - about 5+ hrs.)

It doesn't matter what section this thread is moved to. Even it's moved to the junk, I still want to click it. Thanks for the article Duke.

Been there briefly a while back. A really busy and fast-paced city. Watched as planes went up in queue at the airport; and even before the first one disappeared into the sky, the second had already taken off! I think only Heathrow is busier.

According to some recent statistics, Chicago O'Hare is the busiest airport in the world. Frankfurt ranks 5th.

Yeah ... almost forget there is the U.S and their domestic flights. Where's Detroit, then? I guess things have changed quite a lot over the years! ;)
