Hello from the Florida Keys

Hey, whats the weather like down there now and forecast for next week or so...im heading there in a few weeks. please tell me its not snowing... LOL

37 degrees (27 degree wind chill) this morning. First time in over 50 years!!! Hundreds of dead fish are floating up to the shore on the bayside. We rescued an iguana on the beach yesterday that couldn't even move until we warmed it up. If it gets any worse, were going to start losing palm trees. :-( The worst is over though and we should be back to the normal 70's by the end of the week.

Hi Amanda and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear the cold weather is that far south, hope it doesn't cause much damage. I built a house in the lower keys about 15 years ago...on Ramrod Key. Sold it a few years back and have regretted it ever since. I love the Keys and that was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

Had frost in Kendall, and was 34 F at my house (Davie).

Amanda, you really should let the invasive lizards die. It might sound cruel, but they are taking over the habitat & food from our native species, and they have few if any natural enemies here. The cold is helping eradicate at least some of them.
