I would like to know how other domain name resellers handle this important question: How much do you want for your domain name?

quack, domainduck :D

To media.com, HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT FOR YOUR LOSER .COM SITE?????

No reply.

Mole - you're saying that if a 'potential buyer' asks 'How Much?', you ignore them?

quack, domainduck

oh, sorry duck. My fixation.

I'd say, "Well, this name is one of my best and personal favorite. I'd be reluctant to sell for anything less than XXXX?" No point beating about the bush for most names.

Just say are you making an offer to buy my not really for sale domain name.

How much would you be thinking about ... huh

:)

Depends on the name and the buyer, some examples:

"We have no set price for the domain as it is currently part of our wider development plans. You are welcome to make an offer, but bear in mind it would have to be substantial to justify removing it from our usage."

or

"Based on past experience, we'd expect this domain to achieve a sales price of $x if we were to market it to potential suitors. If you wish to make a suitable offer we shall consider it"

or

"We've had several enquiries for this domain of late, and we've concluded that only offers above $x will be put forward for consideration."

I like the first one. And if you are being smart with your names, the first one should really be true.

I'd say you're right Tee, I've used a variation of #3 many times without success

Lats...

Everyone here says Yun Yee does not reply to mail offer. :D

No reply, isn't a bad one, if you know your position.

Imagine, if you own sex.com, how many emails you will get
each day asking for "how much" huh, while most might just
have hundred dollar budget or less.

Thanx everyone for your replies - Thanx for sharing your experience, safesys. I guess motivated buyers negotiate and curious buyers don't. The first email should separate them, huh?
