The launch of the .PAY extension has certainly piqued the interest of businesses in the payment sector, but the real question remains: How will it influence search engine optimization (SEO) for companies in this space?

With the rise of specialized TLDs like .cash, .money, .finance, .bank, .credit, and .loans, does the .PAY extension offer a distinct advantage when it comes to SEO for payment-related services, or does it face the same challenges as other niche financial domains?

How do these specialized extensions impact branding, trust, and visibility for businesses operating in the financial sector?

Saw this old thread and couldn’t resist adding something. From what I’m seeing lately, newer niche TLDs don’t boost SEO by themselves, but they can improve click‑through rates if they look trustworthy. Has anyone here tested .PAY against the more established financial extensions in real campaigns? I’m curious whether users perceive it as more credible or just another new option.

I’ve seen new financial TLDs give a tiny relevance boost, but Google still cares way more about content and backlinks. I’ve had better luck tightening topical depth on key service pages, similar to how I organize things in a Law Firm SEO guide for another project. A .PAY domain might signal clarity to users, but rankings usually move only if the rest of the SEO groundwork is solid.

That’s a good point. I’m curious about this too. .PAY sounds very clear for payment-related services, but it would be interesting to see real campaign data instead of just theory.

It makes sense. A .PAY domain may help users understand the site faster, but I agree the rest of the SEO work still has to be there.
