IDN whois - where to check?

click on IDNs, enter domain, if it's taken then click on Whois info to get owner.

You should be able to do a WHOIS lookup (I use www.coolwhois.com) on the punycode (xn--whatever.com). If it times out, then it is most likely the registrar - in which case you should have better luck going to that registrar's whois lookup.
