I figured that you had nothing to show us, Wiz. And I started to like you. You truly disappoint me, bud, calling me names. Maybe as a child you were deprived of affection and became distrustful of others? :-D

Since you mentioned Bush, see this http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/04/AR2006110401025.html

Here's some free advice: invest in oil futures. And that's some free inside information no IDN traffic will buy.
Have a good one, bud. Try harder next time.
Considering we're stupid Acro then what do you think of DCG?

He purchased 5000 IDNs.

5000 x 6.25(since he is a registrar) = $31,250 per year. I doubt he will be letting them go. If he holds on to them for 2 years that is ~ $61k.

He made a wise decison.

Will history repeat itself with IDNs, many think so, and all of us (well, most of us at least) will be around to see IDN history unfold.

"They blew it…that’s the short of it. They failed to recognize the single biggest bonanza since the gold rush over 100 years ago. They failed to recognize it was time sensitive so they had no sense of urgency to act."
- Rick Schwartz, on the .com Bonanza of the 1990’s (in a 2004 interview with DNJournal.com - http://www.dnjournal.com/columns/cover020204.htm)

This guy turned $1,800 in domain name investment into $20 million...

I feel bad for people with IDNs.

explain yourself. You are selling spanish idns on IDNF. You also sold mas.com with the accent mark for a few thousand dollars. What are you complaining about.

I feel bad for people with IDNs.

I used to...but then I became fascinated reading about the whole history of IDN development since the mid 1990's. And began to realize the whole system was designed from the bottom up by some really, really smart thinkers and an international group of engineers. And they got it right...

Why do you feel bad for them?

I really don't know what you are talking about.

I have never registered or bought or sold an IDN (I thought about buying one time though).

I think you are confusing me with someone else.

Btw, what is IDNF?

PS: People who overly pumped IDNs owe an appology to newbies for wasting their time and money.

Just my 2 ecnts.

As for the other guy, Acro something, I think we have hit diminishing returns on trying to have an intelligent dialogue with him and I would suggest that we let him rant alone until this thread shuts down. Just leave him be. Personally, I'm not here to flip domains, I'm in IDNs for long-term traffic. He doesn't get that IDNs are to non-english speakers what ASCII domains are for English speakers. He somehow believes that all around this big multi-lingual world of ours people are happy with ASCII. And if he doesn't understand basic industry dynamics like what IE7 and FF compatability with IDN mean to this market, then the task of trying to educate him is just too great. After all you can't take Jethro and teach him to design the Space Shuttle. Especially if he isn't open to it, which is clear, he isn't. It is a nice little community of pretty helpful folks here but sometimes you have to say "enough" - we aren't a charity and we have IDNs to reg and websites to develop.

Feeling sorry for yourself then Rick? Since you seem concerned about remaining whole on your investment in IDNs, PM me and perhaps I can buy out your IDN portfolio at cost as clearly you see no value in them any longer.

LOL I thought the same too. I think we have him messed up with rawkinrich.

Okay now that we figuired out you are here to help your buddy , do you have anything you would like to add to support why you feel sorry for us , I kinda feel sorry for some of the major IDN players for a few reason myself

1. All the trips to the bank they will be making

2. All the hate they are and will be facing

3. Deciding what car to drive or beach house to spend the winter in

4. The Gold Diggers

Its not worth the headache and worthless traffic.

Even from a few years back this has been peoples' belief about international traffic. If a visitor comes from Japan or any other "foreign" nation lets deem the traffic worthless. Japan isn't the 3rd world.

No, its the 2nd largest market in the world with an increasingly developed internet advertising market. Also populated with people who despite having 8 years of formal English education, are generally very insecure dealing in English. And why shouldn't the internet be available to them in their own language?

You IDN'ers should be greatful that due to this thread your boring little sub-forum has been in the limelight of DNF in the past few days. Most people link IDN's to spam from China or Russian pr0n.

To my Japanese friend: Ohayo! :-D

Acro, I don't know how much credit you think you had but a shitload of it just went through the tube.
Time to close this topic which, and your childish and disrespectful formulations exclamate this, was meant to provocate.
