IDN's dropping like flies

I really hope people are dropping, nowadays everyone is holding onto their generics - as compared to a year ago, the idn drop scene has turned around 100%. I truly enjoyed the days when RD was battling the entire DNF. :fencing:

If generic idns are really dropping, no less than a quarter of dnjournal's domain sales for the week space will be dominated by snapped idns.

Those of us involved in IDN market know that nobody is dropping anything as the number if visitors, clicks and revenue hit record numbers every week.

Well, here's the legendery JC speaking.

IDN = Internationalized DANGEROUS Domains

Most IDNs will go nowhere....very few will be profitable as comapred to some other TLDs such as dot com, org, etc.

RubberDuck (and your followers) should sincerely appologize to the newbies on this forum for misleading them and wasting their time, and money on IDNs.

I bet you do feel guilty about your IDN misinformation campaign but you do not want to admit it.

Time to say sorry my friend.

Yes, this is the biggest mistake that even experienced domainers make, associating idns with .Weird. :greenembarrassed:

A lot of us only go for IDN.com. Besides, there are also European idns - obvious winners no matter what you guys say.

I guess Mr. Adam Dicker should apologize as well huh ? I could have sworn i seen a post with you looking to spend up to 50k on a IDN http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=152928 ( i guess you should apologize because somebody seen this post and said my golly i need to spend some money on these things) but anyways Dont be mad a newbies for having common sense , generic domain name in a foreign language or PleaseAppraiseThisBull$@#!.info

I am still waiting for IDN pumpers to appologize to innocent newbies for wasting their time and money; just look at the opportunity cost alone.....its mind boggling.

Don't tell people to buy IDNs which has almost no value and hardly any one will pay for IDN traffic in case they get some.

Amazing how some of you are manipulating newbies to dump your bad purchases on them.

Did you view this thread ? http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=160327

You have got to be joking.

Have you read this thread? Or read anything about IDN development?
Why is Microsoft putting IDN capability in their browser IE7...so noone can use it? IDNs are simply "domains" just like ascii only in foreign language script.
It is a simple concept...

IDNs will take their place alongside ascii, and become the standard for people that don't speak English (and those that are multi-lingual).
Imagine marketing URLs in a language your audience can't read or understand!!

Do you know a bit about the history of IDN development? This is not some new hair brained scheme, but something in the making for nearly a decade.

IDNs are already in use and ARE .com, .net, .tv, .jp, .cn and more.

By .com I meant Alpha-numeric dot com domains.

Like I said very few IDNs will be profitable as there is not big adevertiser base for IDNs.

Can you please please please provide something to back this up ? Thanks in advance

Because im having a hard time understanding why they dont advertise in other countries ,

Also did you apologize yet for this thread http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=152928 im sure a NOOB seing somebody about to drop 50k on some IDN's would see this as a good opportunity dont you think ?

You have some big balls IDNscrapbook, calling someone a noob with 2 more years of presense than you, in this forum. I'm talking about your name-calling of Rick. And when I asked your buddy Wizard many a time to post A SINGLE DOMAIN that he owns, he avoids the challenge eloquently.

Who's the noob now eh ? :-D IDN fan-boi.

You must be drunk ! First you quote Me reffering to Whiz , then you compare my DNF join date to rikkumars , when actually Whiz join date was before you and Ricks

I havent called rick a newbie , dont try to edit your post to fix your mistake of saying rick was here longer than Whiz

I think you're mistaken. There are many generic IDNs that can earn a few hundred dollars a month consistently, and is suspect, a rare few, even more than a thousand dollars.

Of cos, you won't find these names, and their owners will probably not be selling since there is a lot more upside to IDNs.

Say what?!
Different advertiser base for IDN than ascii? Do tell...... That is one funny comment.
You mean different advertiser base for "other countries/languages".

Woohoo, whatever you say IDN cow-boi :-D

Still online I see? Shouldn't you be playing the game Simple Life instead and raking in the money easier instead of being here all day mining DNF $ here for your website designs? You'd probably be more productive in the game being a nerd and stuff. ;-) I swear your F$ goes up 1000/day. Wow.....

Wizard....what is your domain again, son? Please post it here. Thanks bud.

I'm making real money right here, right now. And I get free amusement by watching you attack me. You must be really tired trying to invent new words to bash me with. Here's a tip: use an English dictionary, not an IDN pulp mag mmmkay?

Whoot! Another 50 pips up on FOREX while I'm typing this. Life is good.

The alpha numeric is going to be in the background. The unicode is what will be upfront and used in advertising. It is easy to remember keywords, not long series of numbers and letters. No different that English urls, just the "term" in the foreign script followed by .com, .net etc.

On bids, you might want to check out the Yahoo Bids for Japanese IDNs.
Most IDN keywords have bids, some have as many as 40 bids on a single word. Should only get better as traffic increases. Yahoo OVT search numbers are already pretty high for key terms, particularly Japanese words, but awareness of IDNs is still low until larger audiences can access (via Vista or IE7), and Advertisers start promoting. "Japanese domains" as they call them should attract attention and catch on fast. Polls in Japan have shown the consumers like them.

On monetization, the highest Domainsite payout I have received is $1.80 for a click on the Japanese equivalent of "will.com" (as in last will and testament). Some real estate terms and medical terms have been reported at upwards of $3 to $5 per click. Only takes .02 per day maintain a domains annual reg fee so there is some opportuntity with the right IDNs.

Jeff, why don't you just mention some of your pet names? Oopps, are you that Jeff??

Here - i was reading another forum - non-domain forum where a Brazilian asked this question on a post on Beijing's traffic jams:

Oh man, they don't have traffic signs in English in Beijing?!

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=410077&page=2

Always the assumption in the Western world, that english signs are found worldwide - a big fat fallacy. People in China don't care the hack if there are English signs for you people to read!

You expect traffic signs written in english in a non-english speaking country?

Payback for us "forcing" our English URLs on them for so long. :greensigh:
