IDN's dropping like flies

.mobi makes me laugh almost uncontrollably.

IDNs have always been a joke. The biggest economy in the world by far is the American Economy. Try explaining your IDN to somebody with money.....they will laugh at you. Mention a strong dotcom and they will know it has value.

Newbies would be wise to stay away from this PIPE DREAM. The holders of these useless names cannot even agree on what they mean....lol. I would rather flush money down the toilet than by an IDN.

If you are mad at money, then by all means, jump in and get your feet wet...lol.

I feel much better, needed a good laugh!

WhoDatDog lay off the KoolAid.......

The second largest economy is Japan....

Just go to Chinatown or other communities within NYC. There are other languages spoken in the world other than English.

Perhaps you should learn how to spell and use proper grammar...

I look around at who is making the money, and it's the .com's. I don't see any variance which can substantiate buying non tld's.

They are available in .com - Don't you research before you post fluff?
Would you rather buy a stock that creeps up dollars a year or an IDN which you can flip for much more?

I would rather buy a domain and build it than flip it.

99% of internationalized domain names "discussions" & idn domain investors are not referrring to .com, .org., .net tld's. .mobi, .mx, et al, have been terrible investments. I own a few to know. :)

What kind of babelfish are you speaking? If they aren't available in .com .net etc what are they available in then?

There is a market for them as reported by dnjournal. Many people are holding onto them. Go invest in stock and see after a year your stock has creeped up a whopping $10. I have sold many domains for thousands.

Now say what you were saying again in english please.

Simply not true. The majority of IDN discussions and serious IDN investors focus on owning IDN.com.

IDNs are .com available from a dozen or more registrars, and all under the .com registry managed by Verisign.

Verisign is going to allow .com holders to have ".com" in various languages as well, so you will have "idn.idn" (foreign language url. foreign language .com)

The same is happening with cctlds, they are moving to idn.idn.

Some are already in use, others are anticipated to be as follows:

Only IDN with traffic is worth money. I still have one IDN, was about to flip for $750 but buyer backed out. Oh well.

Not exactly..especially top generics in major languages in .com, geos and particularly large IDN cities in .com.
Check out the sales listings idntools.com. Unfortunately still too many sales going on privately and not being listed to get a true picture.

The idn crowd just came up with new ways of stealing $$ from decent folks.
I'm busy recording that for posterity, since Bill, The Defender of the Faith, will try to
rewrite the history. As he always does.
