You missed the point :-D
The misconception that keywords in English behave the same way in other languages, is evident. E.g. nudity and nude are not the same words - also nouns are gender-specific. A lot of non-English languages are like this. You can't just open an English to Whathaveyou dictionary and start registering IDN domains.

This whole thread is like a huge stereotype. I saw a post on NP with you Acro from January 2005 hating IDNs.
idns are the biggest joke around. PERIOD.
both IDNs and Mobi are predictions of how the future's market might turn out to be. No one knows for sure until it arrives. There is no reason to be rude on what one believes in.

Why is it that all the folks who are down on IDNs can't provide a single fact to support their posts? Is it just that such people are intellectually lazy or incapable? I'd hope not. I prefer to think it is just frustration or maybe just a desire to stir up controversy. Sometimes, I suspect it's good old pump-and-dump type market manipulation (or in this case more "dump and acquire").
In TurNIC's case it is a waste of a god-given talent for reading and speaking Turkish. I hear people are starting to get traffic on turkish IDNs. Too bad...

I think there is a clear distinction. IDN serve a purpose which cannot be delivered in another way. Dot Mobi does not appear to serve any function that cannot be delivered in at least half a dozen different ways, most of which have more appeal.
IDN's dropping like flies
idns are the biggest joke around. PERIOD.
I tend to contribute to DNF's lively conversations :-D otherwise you fellas would be bored, counting your alphabets.
Do you really speak Greek? Or ever been to another country where you did not speak the language?
Hard to believe anyone who has lived, worked, or visited a country where they had no foreign language skills can't easily grasp the fact that people that do not speak English will certainly want to have "domains" in their own native language.
So anyone...please explain why people that CAN'T read or write English would rather have URLS in "English" that in a language they understand and can read?
