Just a suggestion regarding the subdomain idea, it works as an abbreviation meaning "net address", so it could feature well on business cards. so instead of an ibm employee having [email protected] or www.ibm.com, ibm.internet.net

on paper it would look good, rather than www or http, but
still recognisable as an internet address. probably worth a mail out to test the waters for corporate subdomains.
