Everyone says .com is king (most anyway)

in the case of a keyword + UK.com (eg.petsuppliesuk.com) firstly does this have any value and if so, is it more valuable than petsupplies.co.uk?

i would go for the latter every time. Owning your ccTLD, if you are planning to market to that country, is "the tits" as you say
