Latest DS announcement: Good or Bad?

This is what I noticed last night. At 9pm PST my uniques and revenue were same as 12:30pm PST ...I thought maybe this would get resolved somehow by this morning..Today's info has started to get posted however yesterday's uniques and revenues are still same. Which is impossible because some of my domains peak out at around late night. (Oh, and by the way, I did every now and then check my domains and they were resolving, no problems whatsoever). I noticed this on Friday as well but I didn't care much since it was only minor..Last night was just outrageous..3 hours and no stats ?!!!

I suggest everyone to keep a note of their stats every hour and notice what it is doing.

Also, I have been comparing awstats to DS and it seems like they are eating a chunk of uniques. I have no idea what is going on. Hopefully something for the better. So far Stats for today have updated but then I have only noticed for 2 hours.

I had the same problem on the 10th. It was fixed on the 11th around 9:00am. It was just a update delay. Don't worry, DS always fixes that for me when it happens. They have the stats, they just have not posted into your account yet.

12/12/04: 30% drop in visitors, 80% drop in daily revenue!

If this trend continues for a couple of days, I will have no choice but to move to another PPC.

dn with quality traffic : almost same..some below average some above, can't say if new landing pages works better

dn with "bad" traffic : more than 70% down , I always have more vistitors on weekends so is safe to conclute that DS will pay less than before for this kind of traffic ..and I have lots of it

Those with quality traffic domains be patient as they will be changing it for the best performance but low quality traffic is better to be moved elsewhere

Today's revenue so far is really good but then that is because the awstats and ds stats are matching with unique (not 100% but almost).

Impressive, hopefully this will continue throughout

Oh, by the way, something I would like to share. I have a few domains that are specific fashion industry (although I won't name the specific sub-category).

What I noticed is some of the top advertisers on weekdays do not advertise on weekends. I checked that on saturday and sunday. I only had a chance to check that specific category, not the other domains I have.

I am not sure if this is for other categories. It would be nice if someone else can monitor some other category on the coming weekend?

PPC is becoming very sophisticated on the advertisers side. There are companies offering services and products for the advertisers to help them optimize their spending. This can include different bids for different days, maybe even changin bids during the day. I started with PPC on the advertising side, but I have been pretty inactive that way lately.

My DS revenue was almost OK like other Mondays until 5 PM EST.

Something has gone WEIRD again in DS system in last 3 hours.

No visitors update.

Revenue has increased only few miserable cents in last 3 hours.
Generally revenue will jump 3 to 15 dollars every hours in these hours.

It seems almost as if there is a revenue switch that gets turned ON and OFF some times....

It sucks big time.

DS is just messed up.... plane and simple.

Time to look around and find a place that can take care of the stats properly.
We can NOT afford revenue lost every now and then.

hiOsilver: I agree with you totally there. From advertisers point of view, they have to be able to gain good amount of sales in order to continue. My assumption is (only assumption) that after reading an article in businessweek about click thru fraud, more and more advertisers are rethinking their strategy.

Recently there was a post somewhere here or domainstate about CFO from google i think stating some serious considerations on what to do next with click thru's and how to better serve the industry.

My only concern is if this continues the route as it is right now and sales drop thru click thrus it will be bad for domainers.

Let's see what others have to input.

Yesterday DS had a major mishap with my stats somehow.

Revenue was 57 at 6:10 PM EST and the day ended at about 70. On average my portfolio will earn $3 to #15 PER HOUR (or even more) after 6 PM EST.

So basically I earned almost 1 dollar and some change per hour after 6 PM.

My stats were similarly messed up on Sunday also.

DS stats issue needs to be resolved now.

I am seriously considering moving my entire portfolio elsewhere.

Can not take any more losses.

My analysis and comparison to previous 4 weeks show that its making me lose big revenue along with lower visitor stats.

The stats just stall for few hours many times a day.

When ever updates finally take place they do not show full updates and make me lose revenue and visitors permanently.

Does DS have any plan to fix their stats nightmare properly and permanently?

Seriously considering moving away to hitfarm or someone else.

Please fix or make-up for the lost revenue properly.

Wow. Huge drop in traffic, and revenue down to nothing. Fabulous parking stats show normal daily traffic, but DS stats show very little visitors for the same domains. They were following almost on target with each other until the DS "improvements".

Are you using proredirect as your name servers for DS?

Yes DS is definately having sporatic stat glitches. Must be effecting the check printing system too, as there is no mention of any processing and nothing in the mail. (anybody else) I sent Ms Heather an email, Sunday night, with DETAILED explanation,stats from there own pages, where the first 3 domains total (out of 200+) equaled more revenue than they paid me for all domains combined for the day. The total, should have about double what there system paid me. It could not add its own numbers. Needles to say, I have not heard a peep or a squeak from Heather or DS. They can not refute thier own evidence, which is STILL in the stats page. They appear to be living in denial. All this stat stuff and lack of dialog are starting to take a toll on DS reputation. Now if the payments start taking more than two weeks, they are going to be in a world of hurt. DS, the silence, it hurts. Please wake up and address these issues, and could somebody please acknowledge emails. If your are overwelmed, then SAY SO. Maybe we'll back off. The cumulative groaning is getting louder, I can hear it.

About the updates. I have found that if you wait until about 15 after the hour , your stats update in full. I have checked earlier on occasion and only got partial updates, but the next hour will reflect the full if I wait long enough. You can also usually squeeze another small update in after 30 past, but alway miniscule, like the system corrected itself. Its when there is an obvious glitch, numbers just dont jive, and its archived, that I really get concerned. Like , when my uniques, searches, and clicks all double, and individual domain revenue reflects this, but the total I receive is only half, or a normal days worth. Well that pisses me off because the response, all stats are ok, doesnt justify the missing revenue. I was gonna just be quiet, but DS is not responding in a very good way to the others. So I will also vent, as it was a $250 discrepency. Heather, I will be waiting for your reply. My email address and account info were included. No excuses.
