doberry..I had considered tolearn.us for the obvious sub domain..but seperate pages for each topic will actually be less expensive to set-up since each topic will only be one page...

literally tens of thosands of "learnto" topics..each "topic" each with it's own page ...each with a affiliate program specific to that topic..

each "LearnTo" page generating revenue ....each "LearnTo" page NOT subject to the ups and downs of the other pages..diversity..when one product is cold..others are hot..

What am I missing here? Those are not sub-domains or valid URL's. A sub-domain would be makemoney.learnto.us (which would leave the grammar backwards and of little value).

You would have to own makemoney.us to have the sub-domain learnto.makemoney.us.

why would I want draw.us , makemoney.us ect? they wont get any "real" type-in " traffic...now will they!


Lets say with "LearnTo" I build 100 pages ..each page is a seperate topic.. like makemoney, draw, fly, type etc..

You are implying I should BUY 100 domains.. draw.us, makemoney.us etc.. lets see at 10 a piece thats thosand dollars a year for the domains, and even CHEAP hosting at $2 each is $200 a month hosting.. etc.. !

With "LearnTo" even 100 topics(1 page each) .I will have spent $10 for the domain to cover ALL the topics..my $2 Hosting will cover 100 pages ..

So my expenses will be about $2.70 a month TOTAL for 100 topics compared to $85 a month per domain if I take your route !
Listen winfree I've been at this a long time now..

what you're doing is a learning portal

so you would have say
www.learnto.us
which has on the main page links to various pages related to topics like...

www.learnto.us/SpeakSpanish/
www.learnto.us/DriveaCar/
etc etc

so if people gave up on learning to drive you would still be pulling a profit from all the people who want to learn spanish and are (hopefully) buying their spanish books from your affilliates links on that page...

I think it is a fairly good idea...

its a hard site to develop as you have to have in-depth knowledge of all the subjects to provide useful content but if you have the drive it is certainly doable...

I'm not implying anything. I just said that Learnto/Makemoney.us is not a sub-domain nor a valid URL. There are no good sub-domain possibilities with learnto.us. You are referring to something entirely different when you are talking about pages within the site.

No one looking at just the name learnto.us will have any idea that there are a hundred pages inside about different topics. They will just see what appears to be an incomplete domain name.

Of course if you have the money and skill to brand it (and you very well might as you have been at it a long time as you noted), then it could be a whole different ballgame.

Also, .us is an obvious liability at this point in time. I am one who thinks it has future prospects though, so you might as well get to work branding it now if you think your idea will work. I plan to put up a .us site or two later myself and I want to see some sites up there so people start getting used to the extension. Good luck.

exactly cigala..

not to worried about needing an in-depth knowledge of hundreds of topics though..

remember the OBJECT of each page is only to LEAD your surfer to a product or service that for x amount of dollars PROVIDES that "in-depth" knowledge(that your visitor is searching for...lead your horse to water and he will drink..well ;at least 2-3 percent will )..hence your affliate programs..

It WOULD be terrific though to have the resources to have an "expert" on each topic ..so the site ends up being "the" main source of information...

Hopefully someone with THAT vision see's the potential and makes an offer in a year or 2 ..if not fine..

The site will be profitable anyways....
