Hi,

Probably a bit of a noob questions here. But, I'm wondering about this buying of expired names and parking them on sedo/fabulous etc.. business.

Let's say I bought a domain that recently expired with high linkpop, which I have done a fair few times (and I'm not talking about domains with 20 linkpop - more link 100's+). OK, so if I park them at, let's say sedo, won't the traffic to the domain diminish over time? I mean those links that were pointing to a proper site will be removed (eventually) when the webmaster finds the link does not point to the correct site anymore (OK, so not many webmater keep a vigil on 'dead/incorrect' links - but they'll find it one day). So, after a few months won't you be left with a worthless domain? That would mean to keep getting decent revenue from parked ppc, you would have to keep adding domains? (No rest for the wicked huh?)

Obviously typein/generic domains are an exception.

Thanks.

Correct, link traffic decays over time. Some people are good enough at converting it, that they do not care, as they take the money and then let the name expire when the traffic dies. This is why typein traffic is generally more valuable, although it may not be as plentiful, depending on the word.
