Hello i am thinking of starting a Search Engine and i have registered the name Pludo.com for it what you think?
Im thinking a cheesy line like
Pludo we search the net as far as Pluto

Something like that

can you think of any other catchy slogans i can use and what you think of the name for the type of site?

Thanks

how about 'Pludo.com, because pluto.com was already registered'

no really, it's a very good pronouncable domain ... would just require some major branding.

good luck

It's not that easy to work out how to pronounce it

Pludo.... Pluddo? Ploodo? it also look kinda awkward somehow. You'd probably lose traffic to pluto.com on return visits

I think its ok. ANY name can become brandable if you have the right amount of money.
Personally i think godaddy is a TERRIBLE name, same with altavista. But look how they are getting popular. Its all about the $$$ if you have enough you will easily make that name Brandable.

Luke raises a valid point though.

Nobody is going to mispronounce GoDaddy, but Pludo could be pronounced ploo-doh or plugh-doh, or someone will just say Pluto. I don't think it's a very good name to make brandeable because you'll have pronunciation issues.

Well we plan on developing it into a very nice search engine.
Also to do with the miss spelling how many people miss spell Google Alot and tey have had no problem in succeeding we could also buy all typos of it and redirect them but as its a small word i dont think people will have to many problems spelling it right.
We are also getting a toolbar set up for it and other great things added to the site will keep you posted on progress.
