Which is more valuable (if it all valuable)?

lotrfan.com or lotrfans.com?

Please appraise the value.

thanks,

I don't think either has any value unless well developed, in which case any value would be strictly dictated by traffic generated

Plus, New Line might be a little touchy about people treading on their TM...

absolutely true. but with the attention it is getting from both the movies and the books there are alot of people interested in LOTR.

An easy forum site to develop, I would imagine.

I agree, there are a million and one RPG (Role playing games) hacks for any of the free forums out there to turn a standard forum design into a middle-earth battlegrounds etc.

I have an aversion to D&D fans and Trekkies and the such (I come across them alot at work as a programmer) otherwise I would consider doing something like this...

My advice is capitalise now before the third film is released and interest ultimately wanes except of course for the nerdy types i work with :)

I bought TheLOTRTrilogy.com with intentions of also making it a forum site, that is if I don't sell it. The hype is there, and by the time the third movie rolls along, the worldwide fan base will be huge. Figure this last movie has already raked in half a billion dollars worldwide and is expected to break the billion dollar mark by its end in theatres.

If I don't end up selling mine, and you hold on to yours, I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to link up and boost each others traffic. Let me know.

As I stated with TheLOTRTrilogy.com, you're rolling the dice with anything that skirts such a huge Copyright/Trademark. New Line (which is part of Warner Bros & AOL) DOES persuit trademark claims, so a DMCA notification is a possability for any LOTR domain.

Anything is possible... :)

I can't see it (either of them), to be honest. Sorry.
