Michael Moore is pretty popular and unpopular these days.

While I know that dashes aren't popular... some people have had to resort to having them in their name. Al Franken has al-franken.com, but not alfranken.com.

What do you guys think? Please appraise.

That's what I thought as well, and I believe he would be the type of person to go after it.

http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp-policy-24oct99.htm
Paragraph 4(c)(iii) says.. you are making a legitimate noncommercial or fair use of the domain name, without intent for commercial gain to misleadingly divert consumers or to tarnish the trademark or service mark at issue.

Wouldn't I be ok if I were to set up a site with reviews of his books and movies? Which is what I had intended to do with the name.

IMO...develop into a forum where people can go back and forth with eachother. Alot of people despise him and alot support him so it could make for a very unique site. As for the UDRP, it wouldn't really matter because you're expressing opinion and critique...hard to win.
