Would love to hear opinions on this .CO domain: Monaco

I've had an enquiry on this name and would like opinions on possible value.

Thanks

Nice keyword, looks and sounds good with .co, I'd ask low to mid x,xxx.

Thanks, I've had a look at valuate.com which gave an estimate of $13,000 same as estibot.

Nice to read the news about Sedo's stats regarding .co

The offer was not great, I'll counter with a bigger price.

It's a .co
That being said, USD 1920 tops, IMHO

It isn't worth much. No serious person would EVER EVER EVER develop a site on a .co without owning the dotcom. That is not really debatable. If you were offered $100, then you can counter with whatever you want. With a name like this, if you counter at 3K and the person never responds, you can start working your way down to where you might end up getting close to his initial offer. There are times where you can counter offer and scare the buyer away, and it can happen to where the buyer will no longer want it at any price, but with this name, since they contacted out of the blue, you can probably take a shot at a lucky price without blowing the deal. If they want it for a few hundred and you counter with thousands, my guess is that they will still want it at a few hundred after they hear about your outrageous demand.

Also, anybody ever spends 10 seconds talking about Estibot has just wasted 10 seconds. It is a very amateurish thing to do. I have never once in my life EVER run a name that I owned or wanted to buy through any type of Estibot-ish type site. You might as well have a computer tell you if the girl walking down the street is good looking or not. Just plug in some info and get your answer.

There was a name that someone posted the other day that had me clicking on an Estibot link for maybe the second or third time ever, just to see how unreasonable it was. He posted it here in the appraisal section. The Estibot appraisal was for 231K. I would rather have $200 in cash than the name he listed. I would bet my right arm that those who run the Estibot site would not give him 2.3K for the name right now. So, that means that they can appraise a name at 231K and yet not be willing to buy the name for even one percent of the appraisal.

So tell me why anyone on the planet would care about Estibot? I don't get it.

After reading your posts I'm not going to counter offer, I have sent a "thank you but your offer was not high enough"

I figure if they really want it then they'll make a better offer.

I think Monaco.co is a good one. It's short. It's an affluent place and a lucrative keyword. Plus it's catchy to have that repeated "co" sound in Monaco.co. I think that the brand name will stand out from the .COM because of that sonic effect. Appraisal on this one depends on the depth of the buyer's (or buyers') pockets, their emotional attachment to the name, and the number and quality of their other available name options. I'd research the last factor in some detail prior to establishing your price. I've seen worse .CO domains sell for 5-figures. So on a good day, you might get a low 5-figure sale. More conservative pricing would be 4-figures for an end user.

I agree with the previous post.

Plus, I think there have been a lot of 'serious' people who have developed sites on .co already.

And we'll soon be seeing a lot more sites developed on lots of new gtlds - the great experiment.

Once again, nobody who is serious about improving their life would EVER spend a lot of time or money on a .Co site. That is as basic as it gets. You can argue all day about others who have tried it. They all regret it. If you don't own the dotcom, and you decide to spend the ONLY life you have on a .Co site then you are not going to get the prize in life. Also, if you own the dotcom you don't need to worry about the .Co. The .Co extension is basically a fraudulent extension that is a typo and should have never been approved. Like many other extensions, it is filled with scammers. How quickly people forget .mobi, and all the nonsense with that. Remember Flowers.mobi that "allegedly" sold for over 200K at Traffic? Well, it sold for 6K about two years after that. Remember Overstock.co? Well, the loser CEO finally admitted it was pump and dump and he abandoned that (after being paid off by .co).

Go ahead and start a site at .co today and update us on your progress. We all need a good laugh. Every hour that you put into a .Co site is just helping to build the business of the dotcom. If you don't understand that, then you have major problems.

Why the diatribe? Most of us here probably agree that .COM is preferable to .CO. So you're preaching to the choir. You're not talking to the registry or the business trying to create a website / brand. We're domain sellers here.

This thread is designed to help the domain owner price his domain for sale. Hijacking the thread to attack the .CO registry or warn buyers not to purchase a .CO domain does nobody any good. Those people aren't reading this thread. And if they were, you'd just be interfering with somebody else's sales prospects anyway, which is something nobody appreciates.

I agree .com is preferable but they are just so expensive. Most people cannot afford a decent generic or geo .com

Its as simple as that, I cant afford to buy the equivalent name in a .com (its not available anyway).

Back on topic, as it happens Tuscany.co was purchsed for $4,000

Sheffield.co just reported sold for $1,522

Not mine

Ulysses,
the world champions in bridge (the game) is called team Monaco. Comprised of three pairs :
- Fantoni-Nunes (IT)
- Helgemo - Helness (NO)
- Zimmermann - Multon (SWI - FR)

They are all living in Monaco and they got this name in order to be able to participate, despite originating from different countries. Of course I am not sure if they would like the name , but it sounds really well and Mr Zimmermann is also their sponsor and a very wealthy man (Real estate). Try reaching out to him and you might be in for a pleasant surprise

Thank you for the info Asfas.
