I personally don't like the idea of buying a subdomain. $0
More power to us.com though for being able to pull it off.
I think this is a solid investment. First off, I keep hearing the term "sub-domain" used. What does this mean? If you read the article at Dnforums.com, these new domains are offered by CentralNic out of london and in partnership with Domainsite and other registrars are offering them as a new (and in my opinion) attractive alternative to the morass of extentions currently in circulation. These names (.us.com, .uk.com, .web.com .de.com) resolve the exact same as other extentions (.com, .co.uk, .co.in ect..) The value I see here is simply in the strength of the keyword. If I did a search on "movies" in Google or saw a link for Movies.us.com, I would click on it everytime because it is the exact term for what I am searching for. This ALONE is worth value in the market. MARK MY WORDS, names like this (the strongest of recognition terms) will ALWAYS have value in the market. Just look at Poker.de.com on Sedo already receiving bids and I understand they are in the x,xxx range. The seller is holding out for real value. As the owner of WIRELESS.US.COM, CHAT.US.COM, DOWNLOADS.WEB.COM, FORUMS.UK.COM, and PROPERTIES.UK.COM, I have faith these will be of great value as development projects or resale to internet interests.
I have a lot more to say on this and will as the need fits.
Thanks
