recently yahoo/google all but dropped me and I did nothing to bring this about. Dmoz doesn't seem to want to add me, and alexa won't take my "related links". This sites precessor had all this and I never made any effort, it just happened other than summitting to a few portals. Is there a place I can get some more instructions and details on this?

Hi,

Alexa has you with an excellent rank of 46K which may mean only that you have the Alexa toolbar on your computer and you visit the site lots yourself, or if you don't, the site is getting some excellent traffic.

They have the current site showing, so Alexa is obviously spidering your site.

You have no contact info on Alexa, if you haven't tried to add it, you should do it before you try to add related links. If you have tried and it's been rejected, contact Alexa and ask why. They may give you an answer.

Google recently began to disallow for ranking purposes any previous links on sites that have expired and been reborn. In other words, they will only include links that have been created since you set up the site. Not sure if this is true in your case, but it is a possibility.

Since Yahoo is now using Google results, this could also explain why you are missing from Yahoo.

Solution: build up some new links from related sites, find some directories that fit in with your site and add your url to them.

Get some content on the site, rather than just all those links. They are useful to users, but spiders love content.

Change your title to include your main keywords and NOT include your website name (especially since wall street bear gets only 32 Overture results).

Hope this helps. GL

one main problem is the last statement is my site is known, and the site is wallstreetbear. I understand what you are saying and thanks, but I am very much trying to brand that.

I should also mention the forum is pretty active, so that really drives traffic. Most of the members seem not to use alexa though.

Hey Keshe,

Make the link to your site in your sig active, like what I have done on mine.

This forum has a 6/10 page rank :D

The Alexa toolbar concerns me. I heard it contains spyware. But Google's toolbar is fine, if you can't trust Google, you can't trust anything.
