Hi Charles and welcome to DNForum.com.

First off read, learn and ask questions. A good place to start are these two threads made by Rob:
https://www.dnforum.com/threads/some-basic-ideas-to-domaining.559784/
https://www.dnforum.com/threads/quick-checklist.562113/

An overall advice from me would be to focus on quality and not quantity. You say you want to buy a domain, then my question would be "whats your budget".. If its 10$ then your options are very poor at this point in time. But if you can muster a few hundred you stand a better chance of finding a gem in the rough on the secondary market.

Hi Charles

i advise you not to be in rush to spend your money

because there are a lot of folks willing to take it

as a newbie, you are part of a targeted group

one that is ripe to be spoon fed, or lead, astray

so, before reaching in your pocket.......read thru Beginners section as well as Appraisal section

and feel free to ask questions.

Good Luck!

imo..
