Wow....I never thought .mobi domains will generate this much interest.

So far 19 offers out of 86 we acquired.

My doubts about .mobi domains are just gone.

I feel more and more confident about .mobies

Glad we registered some mobi domains.

Thanks.

Thats great news, I've been saying it from the time of the land rush... its the best thing thats happend for domain brokers sinse the release of .coms

Ive had two offers this month. :P

.Mobi is currently the hottest selling domain on our site. Even we never thought that response is going to be so big.

Were they numbers or single words ?

I have had no offers but I have managed to give one mobi name away free with the sale of the matching dot com. Not sure if the free one will make the DNjournal :)

Curious... where are you getting the offers from? Just whois listing offers or are your mobi domains listed for sale somewhere?

Just curious.

GoPC

I am curious too!

So far my sales were all "whois -> e-mail"

I listed several domains at Afternic. Much visits, but no bids...

We don't own number domains.

I got some offers on English domains but majority is on our Spanish domains.

Mostly offres are coming from the forums...only couple from whois.

We have decided not to sell so fast as we don't know the true values yet.

I believe most offers are from domainers who decided not to invest in dot-mobi but now regret their decision and are playing catch-up.
But thats just my opinion.

Thanks.

just like with yours, all my sales were Dutch names (translations of "scores" and "call") No bids on the English names so far...

Anyone else been getting offers?
Can't say i have yet. Don't think i'd sell any at moment anyway.
When are they selling off the rest of the reserved names. There are loads left!

someone is going back n fourth on my pre-paid.mobi on sedo.. possibly someone from the forums..........?

Give it a few months and .MOBI may become a lot like .IN, which was all the rage and then poof ...

Maybe .mobi will be different, but seems there's more speculation (I'd even hazard market manipulation) than real investment happening - perhaps I'm way off base with my comments, but it sure seems that way to me ... time will tell.

Ron

Hi Ron,
i agree with your second paragraph. All is not what it appears, but then consumers have always been manipulated & always will.
From a .mobi owner's point of view i hope the big guns backing the extension manipulate the public & big business too! LOL

However i don't think we can compare .mobi to cctlds & .aero etc

It is a global tld. Simple. It's job is to be the .com for cellphones. Now the big question is will it last the course? I don't know, but i'm hoping it lasts a few years to bring some bacon in.

This may be off the back of the TRAFFIC publicity. The question is whether to sell during the current fever, or wait and see if there's really a sustainable growth and investment opportunity.

Precisely,old bean.

The answer, for me at least.. is to sell some before the drops, which will be one tale-tale sign that .mobi is a flop... whether many many names will be dropped or not is anyones guess...

I just don't see it.
I've been reading about the hype and high prices on these names but I really think this extension has a very limited ceiling.
The added value factor just isn't there IMO.

I'd hazard a guess that at the first drop cycle, 95% of what's registered will be available. These will be a) the really crap names that never stood a chance anyway, and b) those that never got to getting mobile-specific content available on their domain. I think .mobi will be a success for you, only if you're holding the right names.

WHEN & WHERE IS THE NEXT traffic AUCTION?

Pred :rip:

Hi Yoda,
thanks for that. I'd love to have a big sale before that date to bankroll the trip.
are you submitting any for the auction?
think you said musicvideos, yeah?
i'm thinking of submitting some. who do we submit them to, do you know? also, when is the earliest date to submit? thanks, Pred
