On January 20th, I bought the domain from a guy and paid him.

For two days I tried to do an INTRA-registrar transfer to my account at the same registrar [OnlineNIC]. But, OnlineNIC requires some elaborate credit card/ account confirmation process.

So I fax them the document.

But no luck. OnlineNIC doesn't answer email or their phone. All you get is voicemail. I have left numerous messages.

Now, two days later, the domain has expired. It expired on the 22nd of January.

This is a big mess. I just want the domain to be put in my account. And I want to be able to renew it.

This registrar --OnlineNIC-- has lousy business practices and terrible customer service.

AVOID!!

Well, another issue with OnlineNic.

The interface doesn't allow me to change DNS for all domains, so I must manually change over 1,000+ domain names manually. I contact the support they said there is no way to change the DNS for all domains at once. He can do it manually for me with the charge of $1 per domains.

So, if I use their service I have to pay $1,000+ for all my domains where as enom can do it instantly in a seconds. End up I have to do spend 2-3 hours do it myself.

OnlineNic sucks

It is a simple sql command to do it in a second.
They do suck a few times.
I have the same issue with ev1servers.net.

Pretty much right on, guys!

OnlineNIC is in China, and their technology, communication skills, and view of the world are not up to modern standards. Personally, as my domains there come up for renewal, I am transferring them out.

EV1 is not a registrar, of course, but only a reseller. In fact, they're a server company that happens to resell Tucows registering. But they have been evolving s-l-o-w-l-y over time. I had many heated discussion about something as simple as a "shopping cart" style multi-registration script. Well they FINALLY added that.

But it's a shame that you are having these problems!

I got this message in the control panel at enom too, but the domains still transferred - Not from onlineNic, but it seems that is an enom problem with that uwhois message. Look for the transfer emails anyway.

We are restructuring the whole division and coming out with new things... We have launched Live Chat although we are having some slowness now, we are trying our best to resolve it. Secondly we will be coming out with a Helpdesk system with ticketing trace system to increase CS efficiency and all their responsiveness are being tracked and will go thru a review monthly to ensure the CS quality. Guys, rest assure that you guys will get new things... ;)

Hi WebCat,

First of all, OnlineNIC Inc is incoporated in California, US. You can get relevant information from relevant authorities. It is not a China based company, but we do agree that we have some development works has been outsourced to India and China ODC.

As for the technology wise and system wise, we will be coming with a new system soon. Til that time you will have the chance to try it and use it. Anyway in future if you faced any probs/difficulties with CS/Service we provided, please kindly send your complaints/feedback to [email protected] or [email protected] and I will look into it personally. Sorry for the inconveniece caused. Take care...

Hello wuga, and welcome to DNForum. If you don't mind, maybe you could clarify a few things for me (and others):

1) You are an employee of the registrar OnlineNIC?

2) Their servers are located in California? Can you please name the Datacenter?

3) Are the programmers English speakers? Much of the text and documentation is still in broken English.

4) If it's not a Chinese company, why is it referred to as "The China Channel" and why has everyone I have ever dealt with in the company Chinese?

5) Are you going to be able to address the problems domainers ahve with the registrar- such as transfers both out of and within the registrar?

6) Since last year the entire registrar was offline for long periods of time, are their plans to update, and stablize the technology and software?

At one time, I place some trust in OnlineNIC, and registered a few hundred domains there. I stopped because everything was so unstable. If you can address these issues, I know I would feel very grateful!

Best Regards,
WebCat

[wuga1]Yes I am someone from OnlineNIC...

[wuga2]Server location doesnt reflect a company location/base. As for countering attacks, we have few stgrategy on handling this. We will place servers around the world, but I am sorry that I can reveal the actual location.

[wuga4]There are one of our support team which located in China, we are setting up support center in India as well. As China-Channel, China-Channel is a subsidiary of OnlineNIC Inc which her office is located in China and mainly serving the Greater China market.

[wuga5]Yes, there is lots of bugs on current module. I am trying my best to get thing resolved and my apologize. As what I can promise you is whenever you got any probs with the CS/support or anyhitng, you can directly send an email to me at [email protected]

[wuga6]We are working very hard in doing revamp, in a very short perios you will see OnlineNIC come out with new value added products/services... Please stay with us.

I really appreacite that you have trust with us, I hope that it will continue the same and keep supporting OnlineNIC. Again, whatever issue, email can be shoot to me at [email protected]

When are you going to accept .info transfers?
When are you start with 1 year registrations for .info domains?
When are you going to create a way to manage nameservers for all domains in an account?

Finally I have send several emails to every possible email address including complaints@
with no responce at all, about a theft of my domains!

edited: I wrote the below message because of the confusion in email correspondence. Please ignore. I apologize about this.
As I have said many times, I have over 1,300 domain names with onlinenic. Here is another serious problem!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I found that one of my domains doesn't resovle. I checked the whois record and apparently the registrar is CoreNic and registrant is someone else. I email OnlineNic immediately to investigate it.

They replied me today that the domain was transfer to my company illegally and the former registrant sent an email to OnlineNic to get the domain transfer out from me; and without my consent.

The truth is the domain was dropped and I registered it on June 14, 2003 and have been using it since then.

The problem is that OnlineNic support just transfered a domain out of my account without my knowledge because they receive an email from someone telling them that I stole this domain!!!!! I can't believe this.

How can they do this? How many domains of my account were lose this way without my tracking record? How can I trust OnlineNic in the future?

To all domainers, please consider if you want to deal with OnlineNic. And yes, if you want to take any domain from me for free, just write an email to OnlineNic, please.

I'm so pissed at them right now.
