Hello,

I have emailed this name to enquirer and several british tabloids. What do you think I should ask for it from a big company? Also if no big company wants it, what should I list it FOR SALE as?

BTW, for sale

i like it. it'll work..

the tabloid industry is huge in print.. sold at every darn check out counter in America.. why not an online tabloid.. a subscription service..

See if you get any postive feedback from your email marketing efforts first.

What would you accept for this name undeveloped? just curious..

great name!

LoL, Tex I have ablsolutely NO clue what to ask for it. So I don't want to rip myself off by posting a price.. Wait till some of the appraisals come in, although I do not have any thoughts on developing it (and don't want to spend time on it). Why would anyone want to PAY for a tabloid when there is enquirerer.com and others?

Please, I would like some appraissals. Thanks

Probably because they didn't create the word tabloid?
It may not appeal to them since it wasn't coined by them.
Maybe its bad karma :D

Good Luck!

PS. Yes that is simon. Except I don't look anything like him, I don't have a brittish twang, and I'm not a gay man.
Other then that we see "eye to eye" No pun intended

No...I just shoot from the hip with both barrels.
I don't post appraisals because I have nothing better to do.
I post them because once in a while I feel like sharing my opinion.
Regardless if I'm wrong or right.

So far I've only been wrong once. Thats when I thought I was wrong but ended up being right

Cheers!

For the domain, you're looking at $75 to $100 on a good day.

I don't expect that you'll hear back from any of the print tabloids. Part of the fun of being a tabloid is pretending that you're a real newspaper.

Take a notice at their "so serious" names -

The National Enquirer
The Weekly World News
The Sun
Globe
Star Magazine

Same with tabloid TV shows -
Hard Copy
A Current Affair
Inside Edition

For any of these companies, branding themselves as a tabloid in their name would take away from their "image". It's why they aren't named The National Tabloid, or the Weekly Tabloid.

Anyway, this was just a long way of me saying the big guys won't be interested. :)

A better sales strategy would be to market the name to actual online tabloids. There are dozens of them on the net already. Have a look at www.onlinedailynews.com for a partial listing of these online tabloids. Sites like the Borowitz Report (www.BorowitzReport.com) or Rediculopathy (www.ridiculopathy.com) would be better candidates to make a sales pitch to. Especially those two with such awkward domains as it is, they could use an easy-to-remember domain like this in addition to their main domain.
