$5,000.00 is a fair price for the domain, so 20% of that is a realistic opening bid.

We cannot be exposed for some glitch in eBay or marketing deficiency of ours or other scenario where an AfterNIC refugee buys the domain for $2.00 at the last minute.

We're in business to make money. The domain is a good domain.

No, the eBay system does not call it that. It is properly called the "opening bid."

But yes, practically, a high opening bid serves some of the same functionality as a reserve, which is to block a ridiculously low priced bid.
