The latest bid for advertising.eu is now US $50,100.00 !!! (Apr-17-06 06:28:41 PDT)

I think it`s crazy......are they going to pay or is it another joke?

Anyway... I'm just checking that Overture pays $0.36 MAXIMUM for "advertising". I don't know how much traffic needs to reach the 50K in a PPC way. It is not better buy some financial words that pays more? ($5 sometimes)

Advertising.eu is a great name for an advertising agency aiming at europe, an Ad company will pay major dollar for such a name.
I don't think they care much about PPC ratio.

some of the ones I have got are:

timeover.eu
europeloans.eu
premiumloans.eu
ehacker.eu
ehackers.eu
dnforums.eu
topdns.eu
purebreed.eu
toplyrics.eu

any idea how much could any worth?

Cheers

look at the prices of winning bids for some LLL at pool yesterday
ayt.eu 925.00
azx.eu 725.00
cbu.eu 825.00
con.eu 3100.00
dwv.eu 825.00
gar.eu 1050.00
ghi.eu 1550.00
nae.eu 1990.00
wot.eu 2200.00

Look like .net (+) prices to me

Where can we see how much .eu domain names are going for at Pool? Or are the final sale prices only visible to those involved in the auctions?

Is it just me who think these prices are absurd? If somebody bought ghi.eu for €1550, they need to sell it for over €2000 to cover their time, the hassle and the tax. For the life of me, I can't imagine people spending over €2000 a meaningless .eu domain name.

From the results on dnjournal each week there's only handful of domain names which sell for mid-four figure value each week - out of the tens of millions people are desperate to sell.

I think the prices are seen only to the participants.
As for the buyers might be long long very long term investors.
LLL .net prices can be lower on average from what we have seen till now in pool & snapnames.

So what comes in my mind is that these investors put the .eu just second to .com , a bit over .net in terms of value. If it willbecome true? noone knows for the next years maybe. But I am sure nobody will sell for less than the buying price . so the demand with limited supply might drive the prices above that level (again in a long long time I believe)

They would need to sell for more than that. Bear in mind that a large proportion of a domain sellers portfolio is going to remain unsold.
They would have to be hoping to double the prices they paid on the ones they do sell.

If those buyers are end-users, they are likely to be disappointed. Particularly since all the companies of europe already had the chance to take their desired domains in the sunrise period.

Some of those prices are surely being paid by end-users, keen to get hold of their domain after months of waiting.

Advertising.eu is growing big at $165K...

4 hours left, let's see what will happen.

I think it`s a joke......or people are really going crazy

Shill bidding. Surely pool couldn't be orchestrating it to increase the bidding fever could they?

"Reserve not met" - does that mean it hasn't sold?

I think the guy sell it is nuts if he doesn't think $165,000 is sufficient for a 11 character .eu domain name.

Looks like the seller wants 175k US$.
I would settle for the 165. Some people are just never satisfied...

The offers are not genuine.
