You can use the affiliate discount scheme and bid on domains - before it was 25% discount now its around 15% so simply sign up as an affiliate and backorder the domains via your affiliate URL - this way you'll save money, Pool have themselves said this is ok.

Pool got a few names for me, but I am not wild about auctions in general, so I don't use them much.
