I have finally got my first Pool backorder after months of trying. My question is when will I receive notification of this along with the domain mangaement info? The domain was captured and billed on the 16th but I have yet to receive any notification.

Who is the registrar? If it is Namescout, it is pretty fast. If it is someone else, be prepared to wait forever. You need to bug them.

DomainBank is OK - generally takes about 24 hours for them to send you the login details - They will send it to the email account on file at POOL. Good luck - Steve

Yes, you never know how long it will take if one of the unknown "registrars" grabs it for Pool. Some have foreign language sites and don't respond to emails and others have non-functional sites which make it difficult to manage your domain and still others just never send any contact info or respond to emails. It's a great program Pool has. : )

Actually, shouldn't there should be some precendent set through the Sex.com fiasco? Shouldn't a company such as Pool.com be held liable for causing monetary damage by using non-functional registrars? Many domains are purchased for their traffic and therefore revenue. If Pool knowingly utilizes incompetent registrars to grab the names which in turn cause a loss of revenue to the buyer then, according to the precendent set in sex.com, they should be held liable. The domain is personal business property and should be treated as such.

Very true.... let's hope some of the people who purchase traffic names give them the heavy hand on this... tired of pool getting away with what ever they want!

It's HinesWard.com. I was contacted by his agent to get the domain for him which I luckily did. But now it seems that that Pool used my old email address (which is not listed anywhere in my current account details) instead of my new email address which has been on the account for 3 months now. So, now I must send a notarized change of address form to Domain Bank to get it all straightened out...pushing back my payday!
