Hi guys,
Just a quick survey....

Lets say you are going to register a new domain for a rating / review site for a group of products or service called "***" (it can be car, or cellular phones or web hosting service),

Which one would you register first....

***Rating.com
or
***Ratings.com

I know you would register both, but which one would be your first choice?
Also, if ***rating.com is taken, would you register and develop ***ratings.com or vice-versa?

Thanks for your opinion.

***Rating.com!

Only vice-versa.

BTW, you may want to consider ***Rate.com and/or ***Rater.com instead of ***Ratings!

Best,
Rob

Ratings is better

CarRatings.com vs CarRating.com

If you plan on having one Rating on the site then the singular is better

Plurals sometimes just sound better

If I wanted to go to a car rating site, that rates many cars, i still think I would first type carrating (which is the process of *rating* car*s*, or carreview than the plural form.
just my opinion.

If someone plans on having a budget for advertising (radio, print, TV, etc) then you get all of them.

If you plan on getting traffic from SE and links, it doesn't matter.

99% of sites get their traffic from links and SE. Few get type ins and even fewer have budgets to brand a name.

So pick the one you like. If you plan on branding a name, then you can afford to regisgter them all, or someone will benefit from your ads if you don't own all the plays on the name. I'd get the .net and .us if relevant TLD as well if you are a US based company.

It all depends on the sounds of the domains. There are lots of combinations for rating sites that you can consider too, including ratemy*** (Which i prefer over other combinations)

looking at it now, i see it al depends on what the site will be.

If it include ratings by the owner, or ca collection of ratings, then yes, ratings sounds better, like movie ratings.

If the visitors of the site are rating, then obviously rating is better, like movie rating.
So, it depends if it is the action of rating that is being provided, or if it is ratings being shown.
