Hi all,

I recently received an offer for "socialvine.com". I was wondering what you guys /girls think the domain is worth.

Thanks

Thanks for the appraisal. Anybody else want to chime in and agree/disagree?

Just because it was bought for $35.00 doesn't mean it may not be worth more than that..I would appraise it at high xxx, as it is a very brandable name and social networking is very popular. Since the OP got an offer on this domain, I don't think those links should have been posted.

I agree with this statement...most of my xxxx sales are from domains I purchased under $70.

I would say that there are a lot of options for names in this area though...and would estimate this name would get a low to mid xxx offer.

Good luck with your sale.

Actually, it depends who he's selling it to... If he's selling it to another reseller, then it should be worth around $xxx, (or high-$xx if you're really desperate to get rid of it quickly) which is roughly what that original user sold it for (in my opinion, $35 was very underpriced).

But if he's selling it to an end user (company, individual, etc.) who needs the domain to develop a site, then I'd say you could squeeze high-$xxx, or even $x,xxx from it. It's definitely brandable.

Again, it all depends who you're selling it to.

It doesn't exactly flow but what was the offer, given the fact that your cost was $35?

If the ROI is satisfactory, sell.

the price for me is $35.. maybe something more.
i will not buy it if it is more than $100.

but for an end user it would be X,XXX. or something more.
but not for me.
and my appraise is $35.

so you all saying that mid or high XXX.. think that now you are buying how much u can pay.

for example yesterday i got hackboard.com $10. i thought my max offer is $30. now it will be worthless for u or may be mid XXX or more for an another person. for me max $30.

I get where you're coming from.
Since the best form of Appraisal is ideally what YOU would pay for the name yourself, $35 to you seems like a decent price. Fair enough.

For example, I would've appraised HackBoard.com at above $50, since I would be willing to pay that much for it.

True... Everyone has they own perception on what a domain is "wroth". And we try and imprint our own opinions and prices onto other people, even though they have a different opinion and price.

However, I'll restate again that the final value depends wholly on who you're selling it to. Low to a reseller (for a quick buck, so to speak), or sit on it for a while till you can find an end user. Then, squeeze for $x,xxx.

Easy to type in, the name "looks" good and it definitely makes me think of a chat/social bookmarking/dating site. Having that said, it's not a very rare or generic name and I'm sure that a few more similar combinations might be available for registration. But then again, it's a nice combo and I would determine it's value somewhere around $1000. :)

Develop a good social site on it, get some revenue. You will definitely get mid $xxxx value after development.

$100. What's this common theme about end users paying more or resellers paying less? Half the big ticket sales seem to end up parked by resellers.
