Regfly part of Unified Names / Dodora

They are 1 of the worst registrars out there. I've pulled almost all my names from them. Will have all gone soon.

When asked what they thought of the negative posts by many members on the 3 main domain forums they said "frankly we don't give a damn" in writing.

You may like them MediaHound, but they don't give a damn about you. Ask around.

Same experience so far. I'm requesting for authentication code ... since March 5, still got no reply.

I'm moving all the names that can be moved to them actually.
Not the cheapest out there, but their customer service to me has been fantastic. I had a horror story with aplus.net and so I'm moving my names out of there to Registerfly.
I deal with Tim Shor, he always takes care of any issues I may have.
If you need something I suggest contacting him.

Thanks for the heads up though.. I know you guys only mean well.
If I ever have a problem, I've been fairly warned!

I can dig up his email if you need it.

I normally post my request via their helpdesk. I'm assuming that someone is checking it ... last time I checked (2 hours ago) still an open ticket and no feedback.

They check it.
The live chat might be a better solution though.
Did you try that?

I still use them and stil like them.. they offer much more than any any other registrar out there. I have sold 6 names in their marketplace and just purchased one a few days ago..

Regs are always reasonable priced and you can easily knock a buck or 2 off with their ongoing price promotions

You are correct they dont give a damn on customer service..just like every other registrar..

If you cant work it out yourself dont expect any fast resolutions from regfly , enom , godaddy , register.com , moniker ..they ar all worthless when it comes to customer service... regfly simply admits

I figure if they ever REALLY screw up ..well ; I know they have the assets I can attach liens too .. and it will be a lot easy getting satisfaction from them than from a register.com size corp

I have a registerfly account, and enom $6.95 account. In bulk I register at RF for $7.25 with no extra fees and the benfit of their domain marketplace where I've sold several domains instantly for good prices. If you factor the 3% paypal/credit card fee at enom, it's costing $7.16 each, only $.09 less than RF bulk price. I also like the RF interface much better which I think beats anyone on the market hands down.

RegisterFly has also announced a $6.75 DNS only price coming which beats enom if you don't need the email and domain forwarding stuff and their DNS.

I had a few problems with RF in the beginning, but also found that if unhappy with support, contact Tim Shor direct and it will usually get resolved quickly and satisfactorily. Some of the support people just dont' have the knowledge or authorization to make decisions.

I know a nice panel when I see one. I've seen the guts of 30+ domain registration companies.
RF is the best, and it keeps getting better.
With the bulk that I do, I get better pricing as well. The transfers to them, they work with me due to the quantity. Sometimes, it cant hurt to ask for a better price. But their new pricing will be a headspinner in the industry.
I've also noticed the enom $6.95 accounts being sold on ebay and elsewhere have started to fall in value.

Think we're in for a new twist on pricing once again.

Moniker is THE BEST register.

Best support, best security, and I also get good prices there.

I email support and i get a reply in 5 minutes.

Security and support are the 2 most important factors to me, as price is pretty much the same through most affordable registers.

Every single name I own is at moniker (excluding one, once 60 passes I will move it :)) and I would suggest you all do the same. Get in touch with monte and he will help you out with whatever your needs are.

By far the best register.

I would reccommend the switch, because I did it.

I was once an enom man :p

RegFly, I had 4 names there that I purchased from someone, was in live support for a few hours before a reply.

I'm sorry, that is not LIVE SUPPORT.

Back on the topic..

It even has the same sort of design on it.

VERY strange ;)

Sorry Jordon, You couldnt pay me to use Moniker..nothing but trouble IMO .. you'll see. You havent gotten to know them well enough yet.

The very last thing i want is a a used car salesman approach "lecture" hardcore sale every time I try and transfer a name and thats what you get with moniker.. they disguise this pain in the arse sales approach to under "security" ..

I would not only NOT recommend them ..In no way would I move all of my domains their.. just as I wouldnt move all of my domains in any 1 registrar.

Right, the design....

Registerfly colors that are close to 2 of the primary colors, while this site has close to the 3. Other than that, the background is a similar grey.
They use similar angles in the header too.

Real strange.

See: http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=40477

This case really chapped my hide, because I worked directly with Tim Shor, and he continually avoided me, despite having to reopen my ticket three times (the system kept closing it automatically). Bottom line, they told me they got my domain back for me (after allowing it to be sold out from under me in the Marketplace, even though I didn't place it for sale), when in fact, it was merely a "shadow" domain -- it showed up in my panel, but the "real" domain had been transferred away to another registrar. IMHO, he lied about getting the domain back because he knew he had made a grave mistake. In the end, I only got a few dollars from them for their mistake.

I concur with the others -- RF is all colorful graphics, and no good when it comes to solid service. If Tim Shor is the only person that can get things done over there, the outfit must be very small.

I use eNom for all my registrations ($6.95 -- still moving domains over to them... about 90% there). The reseller interface is excellent, the registration system is easy to use, and seeing as they provide the backend to RF (and others), you might as well go with the source. If you need help in a hurry, Carolyn Mitchell is excellent (two weeks ago she replied to an email in literally 5 minutes). But with eNom, I don't get the feeling she is the ONLY one. I love the "saved cart", global edit, easy pushes, and default DNS features. I honestly cannot find one reason to complain about eNom.

Good luck!

They have all that but the saved cart. A saved cart is a false sense of security and could be misleading IMHO.
Their whole theme is "fly through domain registration", in addition to default dns, they have the spamfly email scrambling service, paypal integration which is used more than not, saved cc profiles, saved contact profiles, security such as locking as well as a NYC address if you want to use theirs in the whois. So on and so forth.

With Registerfly and Mozilla as the browser, thats one part of my life that is very streamlined. Add Watch My Domains Pro from softnik.com and my domains are well taken care of.

Curious if anyone in this thread uses WMDpro too?
Thinking of making my own, a clone to give away.

Nothing "secure" about it. It's convenience. I can prospect domains there, and come back (after a good night's sleep) and if I'm still interested, check out. The only thing that would make this better if it had some sort of a "refresh" function to clear out the domains that have since been registered.

I like the concept behind spamfly, but I have other spam software to prevent that. This feature alone doesn't justify the additional charge (quite pricey when you are talking 300+ domains).

Check out the http://www.searchfor1.com/ (link in my signature). This software not only manages your search engine submissions for multiple sites, multiple keywords, to hundreds of search engines, but has a fully featured domain minder that automatically checks the whois for all your domains on a nightly basis and alerts you via email to changes in WHOIS, DNS or even the resolved IP. Very useful, and from what I see on their site, similar to WMDpro.

That would be a great improvement, I agree.

No extra charge for it. It's a free service when you pay for a domain.

Check out the http://www.searchfor1.com/ (link in my signature).

Looks good, I have a site submitter I market at http://www.programsandsoftware.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=31
Though mine dosent have the whois and email features like yours.
I'm working on a similar software, it'd be great if you shared any ideas that you would do on a new version if you were to re-do yours.
